Applications are invited from qualified Scheduled Tribe women candidates of Kerala State for selection to the following post. Applications must be submitted online through the official website of the Commission after One Time Registration. Candidates who have already registered can apply through their profile. The photo uploaded through One Time Registration should be the one taken after 31.12.2010 and also bear the name of candidate and the date of photo taken should be recorded in the bottom of the photograph. The uploaded photo will be having a validity of ten years from the date of photograph

taken.

Note:i) The above Vacancies are now in existence. Separate Ranked Lists will be prepared for Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur units. The list of selected candidates published by the Commission shall remain in force for a minimum period of one year and a maximum period of three years provided that the said list will not continue to be in force if a new list after the expiry of the minimum period of one year is published. Recruitment will be made for the above vacancy and also for the vacancies reported for Special Recruitment from Scheduled Tribe during the pendency of the list. In the absence of qualified candidates, renotification will bepublished.

ii) The selection in pursuance of thisnotification will be made on a Unit basis subject to the Special conditions laid down in G.O (MS)No.92/80/Homedated 24.09.1980. All postings and tranfers of members of the service shall be made by the IG of Prisons. Candidates already in Government service holding this post, in any one Unit are prohibited from applying again forthispost, but theycan applytohigherpostswhen notified.

iii) The recruitment of FemaleAssistant Prison Officer in thePrisons Department being done Unitwise, a candidate who is appointed in a particular unit is bound to serve in any of theInstitutionsunder thejurisdiction of that Unit.

iv) Candidates are prohibited from applying to more than one Unit in response to the notification

v) The name of the post, qualification and related conditions for selection is notified as per the provisions included in G.O(P)No.89/2014/Home dated 06.05.2014 and GO(P)No.266/2010/Homedated 09.12.2010.

vi) (a) Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.

(b): Theyshall undergo inservicetraining asprescribed bytheHead of Department.
(c): They shall pass Kerala Jail Subordinate Officers test within the period of probation unlesstheyhave alreadypassed thetest.
(d): Statewise Seniority List will be maintained on the warder establishment for the purposeof promotion toothercategories.

5 Method of Appointment : Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment from among Women candidates ofScheduledTribes only).

Note:Applications received from candidates other than women Scheduled Tribe candidates will be rejected. Individual communications regarding the rejection of theirapplicationsfortheabovereason will not beissued.

6 Age : 1841 Only Candidates born between 02.01.1976 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post.

Note:In theabsenceof qualified candidateswithin theagelimit, theupperagelimit shall berelaxed upto50 years. But in nocasethemaximum agelimit shall exceed 50 (fifty) years.

7 Qualifications

Pass in S.S.L.C or its equivalent qualification.
Must haveat least 150 cms ofheight.
Physical efficiency test In addition to the above qualifications, a candidate should qualify in any Five (5) events out of Eight (8) events specified below of theNational Physical Efficiency OneStar StandardTest.

Note:The physical measurement of candidates will be taken at the time of physical

efficiency test and those who do not possess the prescribed physical measurement will

not beadmitted forthephysical efficiency test If accidentsor injurieshappened to

candidates while participating in the Physical Efficiency Test, they will not

be given further chance to participate in the test.

4. EyeSight: Must becertifiedtopossess thefollowing visual standards, without glasses. (Medical certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon shouldbeproducedas andwhen calledfor).

(c): Each eye must have full fieldofvision. Colour blindness, squint or any other morbid condition of the eyes or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification.

Note:-Details regarding standards of vision should be clearly stated in the Certificate as given above and vague statement such as vision Normal/Good will not be accepted. Specification for each eye should be stated separately. If the specifications are not as indicated above, the officer issuing the Certificate should certify whether the candidate has got better standards of vision or worse standards of vision as the case may be, otherwise the certificate will not be accepted.

5. Must befreefrom apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicoseveins, bow legs, deformedlimbs, irregular andprotruding teeth, defectivespeech andhearing. Note:1) Differently abled personsand Men arenot eligibletoapply forthepost.

8 Modeof Submitting application:

Candidates must register as per 'ONE TIME REGISTRATION' with the official website of Kerala Public Service Commission www.keralapsc.gov.in before applying for the post. Candidates who have registered can apply by logging on to their profile using their UserID and password. Candidates must click on the 'Apply Now' button of the respective posts in the Notification Link to apply for a post. The photograph uploaded should be the one taken after 31/12/2010. Name of the candidate and the date of taking photograph should be printed at the bottom portion. The photograph once uploaded meeting all requirements shall valid for 10 years from the date of uploading. There is no change in other instructions regarding the uploading of photographs. No application fee is required. Candidates shall take a printout of the application by clicking the link Registration Card in their profile. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information on their profile. They must quote the UserID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. The application will be summarily rejected if noncompliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. 11 Candidates having A, B & C certificate of NCC will be given weightage marks at the rate of 2%, 3% & 5% respectively, vide GO(MS)No.112/2007/H/Edn dated 21.08.2007.

12 Paragraphs two, three and twenty five (except the conditions laid down in the Rule 3

(c) of Part II of the Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules) are not applicable to this selection.

13 Appointment are made on the basis of the rank secured in the ranked list of candidates prepared in pursuance of this notification subject to the conditions laid down in G.O.(P) No. 21/76/PD dated, 17.01.1976 and G.O.(P) No.25/94/GAD dated, 22.01.1994 allowing special reservations to Scheduled Tribes in accordance with the procedures made for this purpose from time to time and subject to the rules under sections 3(c), 17(a), 17(b) of Part II of Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1958.

14 If a Written / OMR / Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, Admission Tickets for eligible candidates will be made available in their Profile for One Time Registration and the date of downloading will be included in the Examination Calendar. Candidates can download Admission Ticket for 15 days from this date. Candidates who have downloaded the Admission Ticket 15 days prior to the Examination will alonebepermittedtoattendtheexamination.
