Applications are invited from the eligible and outstanding sportspersons in the prescribed format (attached) for filling up of 21 (Twenty One) posts in Pay Level 2/3, Basic pay ` 19900/21700 (equivalent to Pay Band 5200-20200 & Grade Pay ` 1900/2000 as per 6th CPC) & Pay Level 4/5, Basic pay ` 25500/29200 (equivalent to Pay Band 5200-20200 & Grade Pay ` 2400/2800 as per 6th CPC) over ECR/Hajipur against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement). The Railway Administration reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies.

NOTE: If suitable/eligible candidates are not found for the above vacancies in Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay `25500/29200), the vacancies may be downgraded for Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700) in the same game & position. Accordingly, players who are eligible for Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700) may also apply for the identified position & game in Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay `25500/29200) but their final selection shall be subject to downgrading of the posts by competent authority.
Centralised Trial for each Game will be conducted against the posts of Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay `25500/29200) & Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700).

Period of Reckoning Sports Achievements: For recruitment against sports quota, the sports achievements shall be in the current and/or immediate previous 02 (two) financial years and sportsperson shall be an active player. For this purpose, previous two financial years from the date of notification, shall be taken into account.
- For example, notification issued in 2017-18 (i.e. from 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2018) for recruitment against Sports Quota, the sports achievements of current Year (2017-18) and previous two financial years. i.e. 2015-16 and 2016-17 shall be taken into account and therefore, sports achievements on or after 01.04.2015 shall only be considered for appointment in the extant case. For this purpose, concluding day/date of the Tournament/Championship shall be taken into account.

Age Limit: The age limit will be 18-25 years. (The age of sports person will be reckoned as on 01.01.2018). No relaxation in upper or lower age limit will be given.

Minimum Educational Qualification for recruitment:-
For the post of Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay Rs. 19900/21700)-12th Pass or equivalent or higher education from recognized Board For the post of Pay Level 4 (Basic Pay Rs. 25500) -Intermediate in Science with Maths & Physics (If recruited in Technician Grade)
For the post of Pay Level 5 (Basic Pay Rs. 29200) -Graduation or equivalent
6. Minimum norms for recruitment of sports persons in Group C category
International Championships/Events are categorized as under :

Sportsperson who has any of the following sports achievement in team or individual event in the games mentioned above, may apply for the post in different Pay Level :
For the post in Pay Level 4/5 (Basic Pay `25500/29200)
(i) Represented the country in Olympic Games (Category-A),
OR
(ii) At least 3rd position in any of the Category-B Championship/events.
For the post in Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700)
(i) Represented the country in any of the Category-B Championship/events.
OR
(ii) At least 3rd position in any of the Category-C Championship/events.
OR
(iii) At least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/ Junior National Championship
OR
(iv) At least 3rd position in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association.
OR
(v) At least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities.
OR

(vi) positon in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category)
Note-(A) All the championships mentioned above must be conducted under the aegis of recognized International/National Federation and also recognized by the RSPB (Railway Sports Promotion Board).
- (B) In Hockey, for recruitment against the posts in Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700); at least 2nd position in the International Tournaments of four or more nation, may also be considered.
- (C) In Cricket (Men)a) at international level, representation of Main Indian Seniors Team in a Test Match or in a Limited Overs One Day International Match or in a Twenty-20 Overs Match; shall also be considered for recruitment against the post for Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700). b) at National level, following sports achievements in 4 Days/One Day Limited Overs/Twenty-20 Overs Men/Women Cricket Championships (except Vizzy Trophy); organized under the aegis of BCCI; may also be considered for recruitment against the post for Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700).
- (D) In Badminton, sportspersons may also be considered for recruitment on the basis of their current Annual All India Rankings; in Pay Level 2/3 (Basic Pay `19900/21700), as per following criteria:-

7. Examination fees :
The examination fee detailed below to be paid through IPO (Indian Postal Order). Date of issue of IPO (Indian Postal Order) should not before the date of issue of this notification.

Refund of Examination Fee will be made through Bank Account, hence candidates belonging to SC/ST/Exservicemen/Persons with 40% or above Disabitities(PWDs), Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes* must submit RTGS form as shown in annexure-A for Claiming Refund of Examination Fee.
*Economically Backward Class candidates means whose family income is less than ` 50,000 per annum. They have to produce income certificate in the prescribed format as shown in annexure-B.

Medical Examination : The sportsperson (Male/Female) to be appointed shall fulfill the minimum medical norms after examination by Railway Medical Authority for the post for which he/she has to be considered for appointment.

The given format should be neatly typed or hand written either in English or Hindi on a A-4 size paper and should be filled in own hand writing. One recent passport size photograph duly signed to be pasted on the application form.

Candidates should send the application alongwith necessary certificates/documents to General Manager (Personnel), Recruitment Section, E.C.Railway Headquarter Office, Hajipur, Distt.-Vaishali. Bihar. PIN-844101 by ordinary post so as to reach on or before the last date mentioned above. The candidate may also drop the application in the drop-box provided for the purpose in the above mentioned office up to 18.00 Hrs. on or before the last date. No acknowledgement of the application will be given. Applications from other sources will not be accepted.

How and whom to apply:

The given format should be neatly typed or hand written either in English or Hindi on a A-4 size paper and should be filled in own hand writing. One recent passport size photograph duly signed to be pasted on the application form.
Neither application will be accepted after the closing date in any circumstance, nor enclosure will be received separately after the receipt of application for attachment with application.
(iii) The envelope containing the application with all enclosures should clearly be indicated Application against Sports Quota (Open Advt.), Employment Notice No. ECR/HRD/Rectt/Sports Quota (Open Advt.)/2017-18 and Pay Level/Basic pay on the top of the envelope. More than one application in one envelope will be rejected.
(iv) The following enclosures should be attached with the application
- (a) Two similar passport size photographs (same as affixed in the application form duly signed on the top) should be clipped along with the Application Form.
- (b) Indian Postal Order of prescribed amount (in favour of FA&CAO, East Central Railway payable at Hajipur).
- (c) RTGS form and necessary proof for claiming fee refund.
- (d) Self attested copies of certificates in support of age, educational qualification and sports achievements.
(f) In case of service employee "No Objection Certificate" from the employer should be attached.
