Rolling Advertisement for JRF Position under DST-SERB Project

Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow for the project entitled "Modeling, Dynamics and Benefits of Marine Protected Areas" under SERB, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India. The project aims to develop mathematical models of population dynamics in patchy environment using ordinary differential equations. Several mathematical methods and computational techniques in the context of stability analysis would serve to investigate the effectiveness of establishing marine protected areas for biological conservation as well as for economic and socioeconomic point of view.

Research keywords: Mathematical modeling, Differential equations and dynamical system, Stability analysis, Optimization technique, Numerical methods for solving differential equations, Population dynamics.

Duration: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable every year based on performance.

Eligibility : M.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics or related subject (like, Life Science) with NET/ GATE qualification. Age limit: Age must not be more than 28 years as on April 30, 2017 (relaxation as per the norms/ orders of GOI). Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- per month for the first 02 years and Rs. 28,000/- per month for the third year.

General terms and conditions:

During the tenure of the project (December, 2016-December, 2019), the position is temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance. Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular Ph.D. program of NIT Meghalaya as per the eligibility criteria.
