Application are invited for filling up the under mentioned vacant post by the Search Committee, Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Mizoram. 1. Name of Post: Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities.

2. No. of vacant post: 1 post.

3. Salary &

   Allowances: 1) PB 4-Rs.37400-67000+Rs.9500GP and other

   allowances as admissible under the Mizoram (Revision of Pay) Rules 2010 from time to time.

4. Eligibility: The applicant must satisfy the following conditions,

   namely:-

   1. Applicant must have special knowledge or practical experience in respect of matters relating to rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

   Organisation, he/she shall seek retirement from such service before his/her appointment to the post.

   Qualification i) Essential:

   1. Bachelors degree from recognized University.

   2. Working knowledge of Mizo language at least Middle School standard.

   ii) Desirable:

   Masters degree from a recognized Institution in Social Work/ Law/ Management/ Human Rights / Rehabilitation/ Education of Persons with Disabilities.

6. Experience: Applicant should have at least ten (10) years

   experience in one or more of the following types of organizations at specified levels:

   1. In a Group A level post in Central/ State Government/ Public Sector Undertaking/ Semi Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ Educational Institution/ Registered National/ International level organizations dealing with disability related matters.

   2. A senior level functionary in a Registered National or International level Voluntary Organization working in the field of disability/social development for at least 10 years.

   3. Senior Executive position in a leading private sector organization, involved in social work and in charge of handling social development activities of the organization for at least 10 years.

   4. Out of the total 10 years experience mentioned above, at least three years of experience in the immediate past should have been in the field of empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

7. Age limit: The applicant should not have attained the age of

   sixty two (62) years as on the last date for receipt of applications.

8. Tenure: 1) The Commissioner shall be appointed on full-time

   basis for a period of three years from the date on which he assumes office, or till he/she attains the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier.

   2) A person may serve as Commissioner for a maximum of two terms, subject to the upper age limit of sixty-five years.
