Applications are invited on prescribed format for the temporary post of Junior Research Fellow in a ISRO-RESPOND funded research project entitled Study of Structure of our Galaxy using Ultraviolet Star counts of GALEX and UVIT ASTROSAT Surveys in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. The research project is in collaboration with Prof. D. K. Ojha, TIFR, Mumbai. The JRF will be frequently traveling to TIFR in relation to the project.

Job Description

:

To work on GALEX and UVIT observed data and Simulations.

Selected candidate may be allowed to enroll in the PhD program as per institute rules.

Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship

:

Rs. 25000/- per month + 10% H.R.A* for the first 2 years. Rs. 28000/- per month + 10% H.R.A* for the 3rd year.

*H.R.A will be provided if permitted to stay outside NIT campus.

8.

Essential Qualifications and experience

:

M.Sc in Physics with at least 65% marks or 7/10 CGPA. A valid GATE/CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship)/JEST.

Desirable Qualifications/ Experiences

:

Knowledge in Astrophysics.
