Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for promotion of high quality science education and research in the country.

Institute invites applications from Indian nationals having excellent academic record and relevant work experience for the following positions purely on temporary and contractual basis under the funded project titled National Facility for Gene Function in Health and Disease funded by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India :

Post - 1	Project In-charge

Minimum educational Qualifications & Experience	Ph.D. in Life sciences OR M.V.Sc. with first class with 5 year experience post M.V.Sc. on experimental work using small animal models and in lab animal breeding.
Preference	Candidates with degree in genetics, molecular biology, neurosciences or veterinary Science and experience in lab animal breeding and management will be preferred
Job requirement	The incumbent is expected to oversee experiments involving in breeding of lab animals including transgenic and knockout lines and also work along with the team of faculty in the various scientific research projects at the Institute, incumbent is also expected to be involved in day-to-day function of the animal house facility.
Tenure of the appointment	Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments	Rs. 1,10,000/- per month

Job requirement	The incumbent is expected to perform experiments involving breeding of lab animals including transgenic and knockout lines and also work along with the team of faculty in the various scientific research projects at the Institute, incumbent is also expected to be involved in day-to-day function of the animal house facility.

Preference	Candidate with experience in lab animal breeding / animal experimentations / molecular biology techniques, lab animal management and surgical experience will be preferred
Job requirement	Technical assistance to students and faculties in molecular biology, lab animal experiments and surgeries. Managing inventories and duties given by superior authorities.
Tenure of the appointment	Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments	Rs. 37,080/- per month

Preference	Candidate with experience in laboratory animal management and / or veterinary clinical pathology and histopathology will be preferred
Job requirement	The incumbent is expected to assist in lab animals daily management, perform lab tests, histopathology slide preparation work and preparation of reports, management of records and other routine activities of the facility.
Tenure of the appointment	Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments	Rs. 33,900/- per month

Post - 5	Technical Assistant (Zebra fish facility)

Preference	Candidates with experience in zebra fish management will be preferred.
Job requirement	Technician is expected to take care of zebra fish daily management and care. Also should perform genotyping, management of records and other routine activities of the facility."

General Information / details about the posts

1. The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the project.

2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment / absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.

3. The appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project.

4. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.

5. Relaxation in requirement of qualification and/or experience may be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious applicants with the prior approval of the competent authority.

6. Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification and experience may be considered with the prior approval of the competent authority for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised.

7. The prescribed educational qualifications are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be considered for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the Project Investigator may restrict the number of candidates to be considered for the interview. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

8. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.

9. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.
