DESIGN INNOVATION CENTRE

The MHRD has approved the establishment of a DIC at Panjab University, Chandigarh at a cost of Rs. 10 crore to focus on innovations around engineering products, add value to the available engineering designs and promote early stage startup companies. Several ideas are being perused for developing a new pedagogy in teaching and training in design, new fabrications and innovations. A number of design technologies for smart cities, biomedical devices, advanced materials, navigational and tourism aids, green environment, energy & traffic management, communication etc has been taken up at the DIC at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate team member filled with enthusiasm and creativity in mobilizing the partnership of companies and individuals for developing marketable products from prototypes developed at Panjab University, Chandigarh

Role & Responsibilities:

• Market research and liaison between the office of research, faculty and industrial organizations
  
  
• Develop business plans around available know how or technologies
  
  
• Identify technologies with high potential for commercialization and develop strategies to transfer technologies to industrial sector
  
  
• Provide value based services and solutions by understanding the needs of the client and giving presentations and demonstrations to the prospective clients
  
  
• Pro-actively identify partner organizations and develop network with product-relevant industries through on-line methods and personal visits
  
  
• Identify new opportunities and needs in product designing
  
  
• Identify business opportunities and perform market research to negotiate the knowhow and prototypes developed at Design Innovation Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh
  
  
• Achieve targets of establishing partnerships for co-development of products, investments and developing Startup teams.
  
  

Minimum Qualification:

B. Tech with MBA (Marketing) with atleast Two year experience.

Age:

The candidate should not be more than 35 years of age.

Salary:

Consolidated Rs. 30,000/- p.m with capping of max Rs. 40,000/-

Tenure:

Initially for a period of one year and limited to tenure of the MHRD supported project "Design Innovation Center (DIC)" at Panjab University. May be extended depending upon contribution, progress and requirement of the project.

Preference:

Candidates with experience and skills in promoting knowledge driven partnerships will be preferred

Salary:

Rs. 12,747/- (As per DC rates)

Tenure:

Purely on temporary basis i.e. 89 days basis which is extendable from time to time depending on contribution, progress and requirement of the project.
