RESEARCH ASSISTANT REQUIRED AT ADVANCED CENTRE FOR WOMEN'S STUDIES

Advanced Centre for Women's Studies invites applications for the post of a Research Assistant in a collaborative short term project on 'Worker-driven initiatives to tackle modern slavery in India: a socio-historical pilot study'. This is a collaborative project between Advanced Centre for Women's Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Wilberforce Institute at the University of Hull.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Research Assistants responsibilities will involve assistance in overall management of the project. The Research Assistant will also assist the principal investigators to construct a database of worker-driven initiatives and to conduct fieldwork with relevant stakeholders. The research Assistant will be involved in organizing of workshops and seminars, assistance in report writing and documenting research and publications. This position entails some local traveling.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Master's Degree with Gender Studies or/and Womens Studies background. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in research or academic work, excellent writing skills in English, and proficiency in computer skills.

Salary: Consolidated salary of Rs. 30,000/- p.m.

The position is initially for four months from April 2019, but may be extended based on performance of the candidate and requirement of the project.
