Recruitment of Assistant Professors at TISS Tuljapur Campus

The TISS Tuljapur Campus was established in 1987 with the goals of promotingsustainable, eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development of rural communities. Through its programmes, TISS Tuljapur seeks to contribute to therevival of the rural economy, society, and polity by encouraging alternatives indevelopment. In order to achieve this, TISS Tuljapur has evolved a fourdimensional programme comprising teaching, training, field action and research& documentation. It has built a strong team of multidisciplinary faculty drawnfrom social work, philosophy, sociology, economics, agriculture, anthropology,psychology, geography and other related disciplines. Presently, it conducts a fiveyear Integrated BA-MA Programme in Social Sciences and MA in Social Work inRural Development.

TISS, invites candidates for Walk in interview for two posts of Assistant Professor in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) to be filled on contract basis at TISS, Tuljapur campus.

Remunerations: Consolidated salary of Rs. 55000/-p.m.

Educational Qualification:

Eligibility (A or B) :

A.

i) A Masters degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scalewherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/alliedsubject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have clearedthe National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or asimilar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have beenawarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University GrantsCommission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D.Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time totime as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET :

Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existingOrdinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree andsuch Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET /SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor subject to the or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions fulfillmentof the following conditions :

a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;

b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;

c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;

d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D.work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;

e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.Dwork in

conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency.

The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or theDean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmesin disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR orsimilar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.

B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with aranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any oneof the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) theTimes Higher Education(THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the ShanghaiJiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Candidates are expected to have at least three years of experience in WASHsector. The candidates having Ph. D. qualification shall be given preference.

How to apply: The eligible candidates are required to attend the walk in interview along with five sets of resume, two colour passport size photograph, one set of self-attested photocopies of relevant certificates in support of theessential qualification & experience and original certificates for verification.

Date of Interview: Eligible candidate may attend the walk in interview on April 30, 2019 by registering their names between 9.30 am and 10.30 am at the Reception, Quadrangle, Main Campus, TISS Mumbai. Only those candidates meeting the minimum required qualifications will be allowed to appear for the walk in interview,

Interview time: - 10.00 am onwards.
