Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications: - B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate score (6.5/10 CGPA) and M. Tech/M. E in Manufacturing Engineering or technology or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate score (6.5/10 CGPA). Applicant must be GATE qualified. A good GATE score will be an added advantage. Those who are appearing for M.Tech/ M.E last semester may also apply. Proof of M.Tech/ M.E certificate has to be provided during the time of interview.

Mechanical Engineering Stream with specialization in Manufacturing Engineering

Desired Skills:-

Work experience related to thermal spray coating fabrication, characterization and analysis.

The candidate should know the fundamentals of biomaterials, especially in thermal spray coating.

The candidate should know the fundamentals of materials and metallurgy.

Ability to work in a team, good communication skills and experience in experimental research.

Age Limit: 28 years

Salary: Rs. 25,000/month (for 1st and 2nd year)

Rs. 28,000/month (for 3rd year)

Note: The above salary may be revised as per DST norms with approval of concerned authority.

Duration: Three years or up to the termination of the project, subject to annual performance review. The candidate is entitled to register for the Ph.D. programme at NITK- Surathkal.
