Advertisement for Research Associate The CoHaB Indian Diaspora Centre, University of Mumbai, is looking for 1 (one) Full Time Research Associate to be employed from 1 October, 2018 for a period of one year. The Research Associate should have the following basic qualifications, special skills and competence:

1. Basic Qualification: M.A. in English Literature preferably with special papers in Diaspora Studies and at least 55% or B+ grade (50% or B grade for SC/ST candidates) overall percentage/grade. The candidate should preferably be registered for an M.Phil./ Ph.D.degree in English with specialisation in Diaspora Studies.

2. Special skills/competence:

a. Excellent competence in spoken and written English

b. Basic computer and accounting skills

Job Profile: The selected candidate should be able to conduct student workshops in diaspora studies, organize film shows and discussions on diaspora related subjects. H/she should be able to manage the CoHaB IDC library and facilitate students/researchers who wish to work in the library. Other integral responsibilities of the selected candidate would be to maintain basic accounts, do routine correspondence for the centre and generally assist the Director in the running of the centre. The monthly compensation will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant.
