Applications are invited from eligible candidates for position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the ISRO-RESPOND funded research Project titled Characterization of Lunar Soil Simulant for Evaluating Design Criteria of Lunar Structures, in Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli-15.

Qualifications

M. Tech./M.E. in Geotechnical Engineering/ Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering

Experience in Geotechnical Investigations and Design, Computational Geomechanics, Soil Structure Interaction and Soil Dynamics are desirable

Emoluments

Rs. 25,000 pm + 16% HRA for first two years

Rs. 28,000 pm + 16% HRA for 3rd year

(HRA as per institute norms)

Job Description

Experimental study on static and dynamic properties of Lunar Soil Simulant
Identification of a suitable binder for Lunar Soil
Develop a suitable foundation system for Lunar Structures
Numerical simulation of Moonquake impact on Lunar Structure

Additional Information

Selected candidate will be encouraged to register Ph.D programme as per NIT Tiruchirappalli regulations.
