SEARCH COMMITTEE INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF VICECHANCELLOR

The University of Mumbai (UoM) is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India, established in 1857. UoM has Campuses at Fort and Vidyanagari, Santacruz

(E) and SubCampus at Thane, SubCenters at Ratnagiri and Kalyan. UoM, at present, has 54 University Departments/Institutions/Centers/Center of Excellence, five Autonomous Departments, one Constituent College, two Model Colleges and four Community Colleges. UoM has six jurisdictional districts viz. Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg and around 770 Colleges are affiliated to the University out of which nine are Autonomous, with more than seven Lakh students. The Chancellor, the Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra, has constituted a three member Search Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Chairman, National Education Policy, Raman Research Institute, C. V. Raman Avenue, Sadashivanagar, Banglore560 080, with other two members, Dr. Shyam Lal Soni, Director, National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, Dist. Pauri (Garhwal), Srinagar, Uttarakhand and Shri Bhushan Gagrani, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, CIDCO, Cidco Bhavan, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai, for recommending suitable names for the post of ViceChancellor.

The Search Committee now invites nominations/applications from eminent academicians who fulfill the qualifications and experience prescribed for the post of ViceChancellor as per the Government Order dated 27^{th May, 2009, and who are willing to take on this challenging assignment. All the necessary details regarding essential qualifications and experience, desirable experience, skills and competencies along with the application format are available on the University of Mumbai website www.mu.ac.in.}

Interested individuals may submit the application as above, along with a two page justification for his/ her candidature and a two page Vision Statement for the university and the names, contact details of three distinguished individuals well acquainted with his/ her work.

Institutions may also nominate suitable candidates.

as to reach on or before February, 2018 till 5.30 p.m sharp. Applications received thereafter shall not be entertained in any circumstances.
