The University requires to faculty on contractual basis to run the following courses at Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha(Mirzapur), BHU and Main Campus (Faculty of Education (K), Faculty of Law, Dept. of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Arts), BHU for the academic session 2018-2019 (for engagement on initially up to 30 days),which may be extended, if required. The engagement for the post of Radiological Physicists, Dept. of Radiotherapy & Radiation Medicine, IMS are on purely job contract basis for specific work for one year with mandatory break as per university rules, which may be also extended, if required. The candidates having minimum qualifications and fulfilling other eligibility conditions may appear for walk-in-interview alongwith their bio-data(affixed a photograph at it) enclosing therewith one set of photocopies of certificates and mark-sheets in support of qualifications and experiences, etc. at the Office of the Dy Registrar, Recruitment & Assessment Cell, Holkar House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, at 8.00 a.m. on the date as given against each : |

QUALIFICATIONS(E.Q.= Essential Qualifications; D.Q.= Desirable Qualifications):
E.Q.:(I) For posts 01 to 10, 25):
- i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55%marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
- iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1,candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.
- iv. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
- v. The provision prescribed under Regulation 3.3.1, 4.4.1, 4.4.2, 4.4.2,3, 4.5.3 and 4.6.3 in the University Grant Commission (Minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in Universities and Colleges and other measures for the maintenance of standards in higher education) (3rd Amendment) Regulations, 2016 regarding exemption to the candidates registered for Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall stand amended by UGC Regulations 2016 dated 11.7.2016 and be read as under:
Provided further, the award of degrees to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-
- (a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
- (b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
- (c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
- (d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;
- (e) Candidate has made at least two presentation in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.
(a) to (e), as above, are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions).
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR ( For Post Code- 12 to 22,) E.Q: (i) (1). A Recognized veterinary qualifications included in the first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act; 1984 & must be registered with a State Veterinary Council/Veterinary Council of India. (2). B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale. (3). Master degree in the concerned discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale with consistently good academic record.
i. For Veterinary Microbiology Assistant Professor post in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, candidate(s) with Master degree in concerned discipline viz. Veterinary Microbiology/Veterinary Bacteriology/Veterinary Virology/Veterinary Immunology, are eligible to apply.
ii. For Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology Assistant Professor post in the Department of Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology, candidate(s) with Master degree in concerned discipline viz. Veterinary Public Health/Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology/Veterinary Epidemiology, are eligible to apply.
iii. For Livestock Production & Management (LPM) Assistant Professor post in the Livestock Farm Complex (LFC) unit, candidate(s) with Master degree in concerned discipline viz. LPM and also candidate with Master degree in Poultry Sciences are eligible to apply. (4). For the candidates having Master degree, NET shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS rated refereed journal.
For recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted, essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree, provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009, and the candidate has at least two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption. (As per ICAR order No.23(46)/2010-EQR(Edn.)Dated Dec.26, 2011), Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturer/Assistant Professor conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or the subsequent Regulations if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities /Colleges /Institutions.
Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

(Medical Physics) recognized by AERB (2) One year compulsory internship in Radiotherapy Department of a cancer hospital. D.Q.: One year working experience in Radiotherapy Department of a cancer hospital
For Post Code-23: E.Q:
i. (a) A Masters Degree with minimum of 55% marks in Hindi/Sanskrit and M.Ed. with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); OR, M.A.(Education) and B.Ed. each with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
(b) Any other stipulation prescribed by the UGC / such other affiliating body/State Government, from time to time for the positions of Principal and lecturers, shall be mandatory
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iii. 1)Masters Degree in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks*
2) M.Ed. Degree in specific disability area i.e. V.I.with not less than 55% of marks Or an equivalent grade of B+ in 10-point scale of UGC.
OR
An equivalent degree from a foreign university recognized by RCI.
Valid registration with RCI u/s 19 of RCI Act 1992 is essential.
*RCI as Statutory Regulatory Body prescribed 50% as per the UGC Regulations Gazette dt. Sptember18, 2010 section 1.1.1 D.Q.: M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Special Education or Education with research emphasis on Special Education; Experience for a period of at least 2 years as teacher or researcher in the area of specific disability.
General Instructions to the Candidates
- 1. The engagements of teaching posts are on purely job contract basis for specific work for the current academic session 2018-19 (for engagement on initially upto 30 days), which may be extended, if required.
- 2. The engagement of post of Radiological Physicists, Dept. of Radiotherapy & Radiation Medicine, IMS are on purely job contract basis for specific work for one year with mandatory break as per university rules, which may be extended, if required.
- 3. Eligibility of a candidate and satisfaction of any other criteria shall be considered as on date of walk-in-interview.
- 4. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.
- 5. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason or may increase or decrease the number of posts.
- 6. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at the Masters level in case of SC/ST//OBC/differently-abled candidates for the post of Assistant Professor as per UGC Regulations 2010 and its subsequent amendments from time to time.
- 7. The candidates should bring their original certificates/mark-sheets for verification at the time of walk-in-interview.
