Call for Applications for 6-Months Bridge Programme (Certificate) in Community Health for Nurses under Meghalaya National Health Mission:-

National Health Mission, Meghalaya invites candidates who are willing and enthusiastic to serve the community by bringing health care services to the doorsteps of the community to apply for 6-Months Bridge Program (Certificate) in Community Health for Nurses. This course is part of an initiative under the National Health Mission to strengthen Sub-Centres as Health & Wellness Centres (H&WCs) for improved implementation of public health programmes and to enable comprehensive primary health care service delivery, including disease prevention and health promotion. Candidates who successfully complete this course will be posted at these Sub Centres as Health Wellness Centre Nurse/Community Health Officers (CHOs) as part of primary health care team consisting of frontline workers such as the female health workers (ANMs), male health worker (MPW), and ASHAs.

The programme will be implemented through the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The duration of the course will be of 6 months with two academic sessions in 1^st July & 1^st January each year.

Essential Criteria:

• General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized Institute/Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognised Institute/University. (RNRM)
  
  
• Less than 35 years of age; however, less than 40 years for the SCs and STs.
  
  
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the health sector.
  
  

Desirable Criteria:

• Proficiency in regional/local language and dialect.(Khasi/Jaintia)
  
  
• Work experience in the public health system, preferably at the Primary/Community Health Centre level.

National Health Mission, Meghalaya shall provide support for boarding and lodging allowance; IGNOU fees; transport for practicum, and other training related costs. Apart from this, candidates will continue to receive a fixed honorarium/Stipend during the training period.

After successful completion of the course, the successful candidates will be posted at the identified Sub Centres as Primary Health Centres as Community Health Officers /Health Wellness Centres Nurse

Eligible candidates may submit their applications to the Director of Health Services (MCH & FW) cum Jt. Mission Director, NHM, Health Complex, Red Hill Road, Laitumkhrah on or before 13^th December 2018 mentioning clearly Application for 6-Months Bridge Programme (Certificate) in Community Health for Nurses on the centre top of the envelope. Documents to be submitted include (a) Standard form (b) Curriculum Vitae and (c) Nursing Council registration and (d) Experience certificates.

Important Instructions:

1. All applications will be subjected to a screening process constituted for the purpose.
   
   
2. Shortlisted candidates will have to undergo a written examination.
   
   
3. All relevant Certificates Testimonials etc (IN ORIGINAL) to be produced at the time of interview if shortlisted.
   
   
4. The schedule of written test/interview to shortlisted candidates will be published in the website and in the office notice Board. All applicants are advised to visit the website or the office Notice Board accordingly. No separate individual call letter for written test/interview will be sent.
   
   
5. The written test and interview will be held in Tura/Shillong.
