Saksham Prerak, in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) will build capacities of 9000 HIV counselors+30000 Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife (ANM) across India. Tata Institute of Social Sciences will establish 10
Regional Training Units to conduct these training programmes. Each regional trainingunitshall cover 3 to4states.Trainings would beconducted at multiple locations.
Saksham Prerak, TISS, is mandated to enhance human resources in addres the nations 90-90-90 commitment towards ending AIDS by 2030 as a part of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). All Counsellors of NACO will undergo certified training for clinical / technical knowledge and skills updates. NACO and TISS willupdate theSakshamInduction Trainingmodule (developed in November 2014) and develop modules for virtual training amounti to 3 days on theory & knowledge and 4 days of class room training for attitudes and skills.
One of the mainstay of Saksham expertise is the counsellors training. This project has an added modality of development of virtual training platform. This announcement is to select a content expert who will be engaged to develop the content for these modules regarding HIV /AIDS Counselling and more specifically, to detail the theoretical & knowledge contents that will be used to design an online training program for Counsellors in ICTC, STI and ART Centres across India. The contents developed through this contract will seamless y connect the knowledge and skill based contact training of the counsellors.
Scope of Work: Consultancy for the development of counsellors training content under NACP
Scope of Work
a) Gather and validate information regarding the HIV/AIDS epidemic in India, the various programs and services provided by MoHFW an ACO, human physiology & psychology pertaining to HIV/AIDS/ STI infection.
b) Translate the information into modules of knowledge that will inform an online training program for counsellors and Develop methodologies suited for the online dissemination.
Theconsultant isexpectedto reviewexistingpolicies,manualsandoperations guides according to NACP to support the enhancement of the counselling services renderedthereunder.Thecontentsshouldclearlystat bestpracticesexpectedofthe NACO and partners and align with the responsibilities of counsellors under varying programs. The consultant can leverage the methodology nd resources assigned by Saksham Prerak in the past for the present assignment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Desired Qualification: Master in Public Health/ Master in Health
Administration/ Master of Social Work (Health & Mental Health or Public
Health)/ M.A. (Counselling or Clinical Psychology) & disciplines allied to
health.
Other Requirements:
Indept experience of HIVcounselling, relevanttrainingexperience, developing content and SOP for counselling services in the HIV/AIDS and SRHR sector. Experience of engagement with Govt. Agencies such as NACO, NHM, SACS & other health societies etc. Will be an advantage.
