Applications are invited for one post of Research associate (RA) in ICAR-NASF sponsored research proposal entitled Targeted editing of potato genome to develop variety specific True Potato Seed (TPS) to be executed in the Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh with following terms and conditions:

Position: RA 1 (One)

Duration: Maximum upto3 years, to be renewed annually depending upon performance and needs of the project

Emoluments: Rs 40,000 p.m.plus HRA as per ICAR guidelines for candidate with awarded Ph.D degree, and published research paper in genomics and gene editing

Rs 38,000 p.m. fixed plus HRA as per ICAR guidelines for candidate with Master degree plus atleast two years experience in genetic engineering and gene editing in plants.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. M. Tech./M.Sc degree in Biotechnology/Life sciences with at least 60% marks.

2. Ph.D with published research preferably on gene editing and transgenic plant development.

Desirable: Published research in genomic editing, plant transformation, novel vector development etc.

Age : For SRF 35 and 40 years for male and female candidates respectively; For RA 40 and 45 years for male and female candidates.

Candidates will be shortlisted as per academic qualifications and research experience strictly relevant to the project. The shortlisted candidates will be informed by mail and notice board of the departmental and website. The interview will be held on 20.12.2018 from 11.00 AM in the Office of the Chairperson, Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Report along with the original certificates. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
