Applications are invited for one post of Research associate (RA) in ICAR-NASF sponsored research proposal entitled Targeted editing of potato genome to develop variety specific True Potato Seed (TPS) to be executed in the Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh with following terms and conditions:

Position: Research Associate 1 (One)

Duration: Maximum upto 3 years, to be renewed annually depending upon performance and needs of the project

Emoluments: Rs 40,000 p.m plus HRA as per ICAR guidelines for candidate with awarded Ph.D degree,

Rs 38,000 p.m. plus HRA as per ICAR guidelines for candidate with Master degree with relevant research experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

M. Tech./M.Sc degree in Biotechnology/Life science with at least 60% marks and at least two years of research experience in genetic engineering and gene editing in plants as evidenced by published research papers in genomic editing, plant transformation, novel vector development etc

OR

Ph.D with published research on gene editing and transgenic plant development.

Age : Less than 40 and 45 years for male and female candidates respectively.

Candidates will be shortlisted as per academic qualifications and research experience strictly relevant to the project. The shortlisted candidates, list will be displayed on notice board of the departmental website and, will be informed by e-mail also. The interview will be held on 10.01.2019 from 10.30 AM in the Office of the Chairperson, Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Report along with the original certificates. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
