N O T I C E

Sub: Filling up of one Research Associate -1 (RA-1) and one Project Assistant-II (PA-II) positions available under CSIR-FTT project (MLP034026) taken up in the Lab.

Applications are invited on plain paper for filling up of one Research Associate-I (RA-I) position and one Project Assistant-II (PA-II) on a purely temporary basis, in the prescribed proforma. The detail of the CSIR-FTT Project under which engagement is proposed to be made is as under:

Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications	M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry/ Physical Chemistry / Nanoscience and Nanotechnology with Bachelors in chemical sciences from a recognized University with minimum 55% of marks (aggregate)	Ph.D. in Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry / Physical Chemistry / Nanoscience and Nanotechnology with bachelors and masters degree in chemical sciences from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable experience	Laboratory experience in computational modeling & simulation on structure-property studies on nano/ mesoscopic materials, knowledge in quantum (including DFT), mesoscopic level theory. Experience in calculations using codes such as Schrodinger, Gaussian etc.,	Atleast 3 years of laboratory experience in nanoscience and nanotechnology (nanomaterials synthesis, characterization and electrocatalytic or electrochemical applications viz., HER,OER,ORR), Fundamental knowledge in electrochemistry & electrochemical applications using potentiostat & other relevant equipment/technique.

Job requirement	To carry out calculations on simulation of materials and nanoscopic / mesoscopic levels to understand synthesis, charact-erization & electrochemical applic-ations especially in hydrogen evolution reaction.	To carry out research on nanomaterials synthesis, characterization for electrochemical applications. To synthesize electrocatalytic systems and evaluate them for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).

* Age limit as shown above is relaxable by 5 years in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST community or women category & 3 years in respect of candidates belonging to OBC.

The engagement will be initially for a period of six months which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the tenure of sponsored project/ satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or

otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR/NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.

The candidates short listed by the Screening Committee to be called for interview would be notified on the Notice Board at Reception of NCL or on NCL website on 18/01/2019. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for an interview before the Selection Committee at Catalysis Meeting Room, NCL Main Building, at 10.00am for position code RA1(E1) and at 2.00 pm for position code PA-II(T1) on 25/01/2019 as indicated in the shortlisted candidate list that will be on display from 18/01/2019 onwards. Clarifications on shortlisting and the corresponding date of interview may be availed from the address/phone number as mentioned above. No interview call letter will be issued separately.

No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer.
