WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

The University requires faculty on contractual basis to run the B.A. L.L.B. (Hons) course at Faculty of Law, BHU for the academic session 2018-2019. The person engaged on purely job contract basis shall be paid Rs. 30,000/- per month (fixed) to Assistant Professor. The candidates having minimum qualifications and fulfilling other eligibility conditions may appear for walk-in-interview alongwith their bio-data(affixed a photograph at it) enclosing therewith one set of photocopies of certificates and mark-sheets in support of qualifications and experiences, etc. at the Office of the Dy Registrar, Recruitment & Assessment Cell, Holkar House, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005, at 8.00 a.m. on the date as given against each :

i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55%marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1,candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.
iv. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
v. The provision prescribed under Regulation 3.3.1, 4.4.1, 4.4.2, 4.4.2,3, 4.5.3 and 4.6.3 in the University Grant Commission (Minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in Universities and Colleges and other measures for the maintenance of standards in higher education) (3rd Amendment) Regulations, 2016 regarding exemption to the candidates registered for Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009 shall stand amended by UGC Regulations 2016 dated 11.7.2016 and be read as under:

Provided further, the award of degrees to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

(a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
(b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
(c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
(d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;
(e) Candidate has made at least two presentation in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work.

(a) to (e), as above, are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean (Academic Affairs)/Dean (University Instructions).

Good Academic Record for teaching positions as defined in the Short-listing Guidelines under Ordinance-11.A(1).

General Instructions to the Candidates

1.The engagements are on purely job contract basis for specific work for the current academic session 2018-19 till 15.06.2019, which may be extended, if required.

2. Eligibility of a candidate and satisfaction of any other criteria shall be considered as on date of walk-in-interview.

3. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.

4. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason or may increase or decrease the number of posts.

5. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at the Masters level in case of SC/ST//OBC/differently-abled candidates for the post of Assistant Professor as per UGC Regulations 2010 and its subsequent amendments from time to time.

6. The candidates should bring their original certificates/mark-sheets for verification at the time of walk-in-interview.

7. The advertisement is subject to final outcome of Special Leave Petition No.____of 2018 (Union of India Vs. Vivekanand Tiwari and another) and (UGC- Vs- Vivekanand Tiwari and anothers) in the Honble Supreme Court at New Delhi.
