This is a Rolling Advertisement. Hence, applicants can submit their Application Forms depending upon the need of the University and availability of suitable candidates. Interviews will be conducted at regular intervals. Applications received from the eligible candidates up to the last date prescribed shall be considered for interviews. The University shall update the vacancy positions periodically on its website. Applicants are required to take note of this in their own interest.

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

FOR THE POST OF PROFESSOR:

A. i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualifications(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.

ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.

iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.

iv) A minimum Score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).

OR

B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

FOR THE POST OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:

(i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
(ii) A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)
(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in and academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/ Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology- mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
(v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS).

The Qualifications for the following posts shall be:

A For Professor, Department of Management Studies, North Campus

i) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in
Masters Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant discipline or consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/recognized by the AICTE / UGC;

OR

First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant/ Cost and works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

ii) Ph. D. or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.
iii) A minimum of ten years experience of teaching / industry / research / professional out of which five years must be at the level of Reader or equivalent excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree.

OR

iv) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1. Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Masters Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant management related discipline or consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU / recognized by the AICTE / UGC.

OR

First Class graduate and professionally qualified Charted Accountant / Cost and works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

2. The candidate should have professional work experience which is significant and can be recognized at national / International level as equivalent to Ph. D. and twelve years managerial experience in industry /profession of which at least eight years should be at least at a level comparable to that of Reader/Assistant Professor.

v) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

a) Teaching, Teaching, research, and / or professional experience in a reputed organization;
b) Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books and / or technical reports;
c) Experience of guiding the project work / dissertation of PG /Research Students or supervising R&D projects in industry;
d) Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and / or professional activities; and
e) Capacity to undertake / lead sponsored R&D consultancy and related activities.

B For Associate Professor (1) Business School (2) Department of Management Studies, North Campus (3) Department of Management Studies, South Campus (4) School of Management Studies (Leh Campus)

i) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Masters Degree in Business Management/Administration in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/recognized by the AICTE/UGC.

OR

First Class graduate and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant/Cost and Works Accountant/Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

ii) Ph.D or Fellow of Indian Institute of Management or of an Institute recognized by AICTE and declared equivalent by the AIU.
iii) A minimum of eight years experience of teaching/Industry and the professional, the following requirements shall constitute as essential requirements.
a) Consistently good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in Masters Degree in Business Management/ Administration in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two years full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/recognized by AICTE/UGC.

OR

First Class Graduate and professional qualified Chartered Accountant/Cost and Works Accountant/Company Secretary of the concerned statutory body.

b) A minimum of ten years experience of teaching Industry/Research/Profession, out of which five years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent excluding the period spent for obtaining Research Degree. The candidate should have professional work experience, which is significant and can be recognized at National/International level as equivalent to Ph.D. and ten years managerial experience in Industry/Profession of which at least five years should be at the level comparable to that of lecturer/Assistant Professor.

C For Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering, North Campus

i) A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelors or Masters Degree in the appropriate Computer Science and Engineering and experience of ten years in teaching, research and / or industry, out of which at least five years at the level of Assistant Professor Reader or equivalent grade.

OR

ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1. First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of Engg., & Tech.;
2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of Engg., & Tech., and industrial/ professional experience of ten years, out of which at least five years at a senior level of Assistant Professor / Reader,

Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

iii) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

1. Teaching, research industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization;
2. Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/obtained, books, and/or technical reports;
3. Experience of guiding the project work / dissertation of PG / Research Students or supervising R&D projects in industry;
4. Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and/or professional activities; and
5. Capacity to undertake/lead sponsored R&D, consultancy and related activities.

D For Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science Engineering, North Campus

A Ph.D degree with first class at Bachelors or Masters Degree in the Computer Science Engineering and experience of eight years in teaching, research and/or industry at the level of lecturer or equivalent grade, excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree.

OR

i) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1. First class Masters Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering & Technology.
2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. degree in appropriate branch of Engineering & Technology and industrial/professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of lecturer.

Provided the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice Chancellor of the University.

iii) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

E For Associate Professor (B.Tech. Programme), Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Technology, Main Campus

ii) A Ph.D degree with first class at Bachelors or Masters Degree in the Electronics & Communication Engineering & Technology, and experience of eight years in teaching, research and/or industry at the level of lecturer or equivalent grade, excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree.

OR

iii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1. First class Masters Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering & Technology.
2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. degree in appropriate branch of Engineering & Technology and industrial/professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of lecturer.

Provided the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice Chancellor of the University.

iii) Without prejudice to the above, the following conditions may be considered desirable:

1. Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization;

F For Associate Professor, Pharmaceutical Sciences

Essential:

1. A basic degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm.).
2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
3. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelors or Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy, and experience of eight years in teaching, research, industry and / or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade; excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree.

OR

In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:

1. First Class Masters Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy;
2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy and industrial / professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer,

Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Desirable:

1. Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization;
2. Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books and / or technical reports; and
3. Experience of guiding the project work, dissertation of post graduate or research students or supervising R&D projects in industry.

H For Associate Professor, Iqbal Institute of Culture and Philosophy

i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in Urdu/Persian/Arabic/Islamic Studies/Philosophy.
ii) A Masters Degree in Urdu/Persian/Arabic/Islamic Studies/ Philosophy with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in and academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/ Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology- mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based performance based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the Regulations.

G For Associate Professor (Social Science/ Languages, Centre for Sheikh-ul-Aalam Studies

i) Good academic record with a Ph.D Degree in any discipline of Social Sciences / Languages.
ii) A Masters Degree in any of the disciplines of Social Sciences or Languages with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
iii) Published Research work of good quality on any aspect of Kashmiri Culture, History, Religion or Philosophy, preferably relevant to Reshi Movement/Spiritual tradition/identity of Kashmir.
iv) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in and academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/ Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
v) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology- mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
vi) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based performance based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the Regulations.
IV. PERCENTAGE EQUIVALENCE OF GRADE POINTS FOR A SEVEN POINT SCALE:

In the Seven Point Scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F, B shall be regarded as equivalent of 55%, wherever the grading system is followed:

A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

V. SUBMISSION OF ON-LINE APPLICATION FORMS:

Step 1: Visit http://www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in and Click on Jobs/Recruitment link. Read detailed important Instructions and Preview of whole process for Registration and submission of Application Form before proceeding ahead.

Step 2: Candidate needs to register himself/herself before submitting the Online Application. For Registration, Click on the Register as an Applicant link. Remember the Username and Password for future reference. Use valid Email id and mobile during registration process.

Step 3: After successful Registration, Login into the system by using your Username and Password.

Step 4: Key in the personal details, educational qualifications, experience etc then Preview the Form. If details are correct, Click on Submit. If there are variations or you want to update, Click on Preview button, make corrections, updating and then Submit. Remember, no editing or updating is allowed after the Form is submitted. Get a print out and note the Form No. for future reference.

Step 5: Select payment mode for depositing Application Fee (Online mode or against the pay-in-slip). Deposit the Application Fee of Rs. 1050/-, through Online mode or against the bank pay-in-slip generated with the Application Form, in any of the branches of the J&K Bank, across the country.

VI. SUBMISSION OF DOWNLOADED APPLICATION FORMS (HARD COPY)

Submit a Print-out of the Application Form submitted online along-with the enclosures, duly numbered at right hand top margin, as per the auto-generated serial numbers against each entry, Bank Pay-in-Slip/Online Payment Acknowledgement and one copy of latest Curriculum Vitae, duly binded, either personally or through Registered/Speed Post to the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Recruitment), Ground Floor, Administrative Block, University Campus, Hazratbal, Srinagar-190006, J&K, India.

Candidates sending printout of their Application Forms by post should ensure that the envelope containing Application Form is super-scribed as Application for the post of , Post ID Advt. Notice No. ... Dated . and reaches by or before the last date. Application Forms received after the last date shall not be entertained.

VII. OTHER CONDITIONS:

a. For the post of Professor and Associate Professor, candidates are required to have a minimum score of 400 and 300 respectively in the API (Academic Performance indicator) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as per UGC Regulations-2010 and 4th Amendment, 2016.
b. Candidates must enter the relevant API score in the Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma. Each API score must be supported by the documentary evidence, without which no claim on account of API
Score will be entertained. It is mandatory that the candidate mark Page No./s on all the supporting documents as in the Application Form. The details with regard to ISSN/ISBN, sole author/Coauthors/Joint publication, refereed/non-refereed/ indexed/ non-indexed and local/ national/ international status etc. must also be reflected in the publication part of PBAS proforma supported by documentary evidence.
c. Candidates who have been awarded post graduate/Ph.D. degree from Foreign University should enclose Equivalence Certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi without which their candidature will not be considered and application form will be rejected.
d. Terms and conditions of appointment of the candidates shall be governed by the provisions of the Kashmir & Jammu Universities Act, 1969, and Statutes & Regulations made there under from time to time.
e. The appointment shall be governed by the rules and regulations of the University of Kashmir, University Grants Commission and the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, wherever applicable.
f. Where the University does not have its own service rules, those prescribed by the State Government for its employees are, mutatis mutandis, applicable to the University employees also.
g. Only those candidates should apply for the posts, who fulfill the eligibility criteria on or before the last date of receipt of applications.
h. The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if circumstances so warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.
i. The number of vacancies indicated in Advertisement notice is tentative. The University reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts at the time of Selection.
j. It will be open to the University to consider the names of suitable candidates who may not have applied for.
k. Applications by Government servants should be sent through the Administrative Authority concerned. In the case of the University Teachers/Employees, through the Registrar of their respective University and in the case of persons employed in the private firms and Institutions through the Head of the firm/institutions concerned. p. Impersonation or submission of false/fabricated/tampered documents or making incorrect/false statements by a candidate, will, in addition to debarring him/her permanently or for a specific period from any employment in the University and also render him/her liable for criminal prosecution.
q. The candidates shall have to produce the original documents relating to their age, qualifications, experience, fitness and other claims whatsoever at the time of interview. The selected candidates shall also be required to produce the said documents before joining the post to which they are appointed.
r. The candidates selected and invited for interview will have to present themselves for interview at their own expenses.
s. The candidates are advised to write their name strictly as per Matriculation/Higher Secondary Certificates.

VIII. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Candidates are advised to regularly login to his/her profile using username and password for latest updates/important instructions, released by the University from time to time.
2. The interview call letters shall be sent under Speed/Registered post. Candidates shall also be informed through E-mail/SMS registered at the time of Registration. However, the University shall not be responsible for any postal delay, whatsoever or non-delivery of E-mail/SMS due to technical or any other issues.
3. All enclosures attached with the Application Form should be self attested and attached in the same order as of the Serial Number generated against each entry. Incomplete Application Forms and without enclosures shall be rejected.
4. The University shall verify the antecedents of all documents of the candidates submitted at any time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be terminated forthwith and the action shall be taken as warranted under rules.
