APPLICATION INVITED FOR PROJECT POSITIONS

Applications are invited for the following Project Positions (Purely on temporary-basis) at Vilasrao Deshmukh College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Latur (MS).

P1. Research Associate (DBT-BIF Project)- 1 position for 3 years.

P2. Studentship (DBT-BIF Project)- 2 positions for 6 months.

P3. Traineeship (DBT-BIF Project)- 2 positions for 6 months.

P4. Junior Research Fellow (DNA Fingerprinting Project)- 1 position for 11 months.

P1. Research Associate (DBT-BIF Project):

1. Eligibility: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Biotechnology/Agril. Biotechnology with practical knowledge of database creation, computational genomics, proteomics, various operating systems, NGS, Transcriptome data analysis etc. Candidate having NET qualification will be preferred.

OR

Post-graduate degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology with First class and having two years experience in the field of Bioinformatics. Candidate having NET qualification will be preferred.

2. Duration: 3 years or till the termination of project.

3. Fellowship/remuneration: Rs. 36,000/-; 38,000/- & 40,000/- + 10% HRA for 1st, 2nd & 3rd year, respectively.

P2. Studentship (DBT-BIF Project):

1. Eligibility: Students undergoing of M.Sc. in Agril. Biotechnology.

2. Duration: 6 months or till the termination of project.

3. Fellowship/remuneration: Rs.10,000/- per month

4. Mode of Application: Duly filled application form along with statement of purpose/project proposal**

P3. Traineeship (DBT-BIF Project):

1. Eligibility: Post-graduate degree in Computational Biology/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/Agril. Biotechnology with First class.

2. Duration: 6 months or till the termination of project.

3. Fellowship/remuneration: Rs.10,000/- per month.

4. Mode of Application: Duly filled application form along with statement of purpose/ project proposal**

P4. Junior Research Fellow (DNA Fingerprinting Project):

1. Eligibility: Post graduate degree in Plant Biotechnology/ Agril. Biotechnology with First class.

2. Duration: 11 months or till the termination of project.

3. Fellowship/remuneration: Rs.25,000/- per month (Consolidated).

The date of final interview of eligible and shortlisted candidates will be communicated by email or telephonically to the candidate.

Terms and conditions:

1. ** Statement of Purpose is a statement by the applicant describing how he/she consider himself/herself suitable for the post of Studentship/Traineeship and how they find it relevant to their career.

2. Number of positions for above positions may be changed.

3. The candidates who already applied for these posts under previous Advertisement No. 01/2018 have to re-apply for these posts.

4. The candidate has to clearly mention the name of positions for which application is submitted and also submit separate applications for individual positions, wherein the candidates are willing to apply.

5. Age Limit: Not more than 38 years (Age relaxation as per rule for SC/ST/NT/OBC categories)

6. The appointment will be on contract basis and the incumbent shall not have any claim for regular appointment under VNMKV, Parbhani or State Government.

7. The initial appointment will be up to 31st March 2019 extendable thereafter upon satisfactory performance, availability of project budget and break in service as per university provisions.

8. No TA/DA will be provided for appearing the interview.

9. Notification does not mean that the post will be necessary to be filled. The discretionary powers will rest with the selection committee for the purpose.

10. Candidate should bring original documents with attested copies pertaining to the a) Date of birth b) Educational qualification, SSC and above c) Reprints of research paper published d) experience certificate, if any, e) no objection, if employed f) Statement of Purpose/ Project Proposal & other relevant certificates, if any, etc.

11. If the candidate do not perform the duties of the project as desired by the Implementing officer, the IO has the right to terminate the candidate without any notice.
