Educational Qualification: SSC + worked in Navy, for a period of ten years with the last rank not less than the rank of Leading Sea Man / Leading Mechanical Engineering (LME) or equivalent.

Work Experience: In the relevant areas as Leading Sea Man / Leading Mechanical Engineering (LME) or equivalent post qualification.

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess recognized Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years experience in the supervisory capacity in a factory. Candidate should also possess one year full time Diploma in Industrial Safety awarded by Board of Technical Education of any State Government / Union territory or CLI, RLI (Ministry of Labour).

Desirable: Candidates having knowledge of regional language i.e. Konkani / Marathi along with Hindi & English will be given preference.

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess Degree in any discipline with typing speed of 30 w.p.m. (i.e. Lower Typing) either on computer or Typewriter with 01 year certificate course in computer applications and 01 year on the job training in GSL or minimum one year experience in the line. In case of BCA / B.Sc in computer, separate certificate in computer applications is not required.

9. POST : Electrical Mechanic (On fixed term basis for 03 years) 01 RESERVATION : ST-01 UPPER AGE LIMIT : ST- 38 years

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess ITI plus NCTVT or ITI in Electrical trade and 02 years experience in the line.

Desirable: Candidate should be trained in Electrical trades from a recognized institute and should possess a National certificate of Vocational training or a license authorizing him to handle electrical equipment/installations.

10. POST : Trainee Shipwright Fitter 05 RESERVATION : OBC 01; UR-04 UPPER AGE LIMIT : OBC 36 years; UR-33 years

Essential Qualification : The applicant should possess ITI and NCTVT or ITI in Fitter General trade.

Desirable: Preference will be given to those candidates who have undergone NCTVT from Shipyards like Mazagon Dock Limited, Cochin Shipyard Limited and Goa Shipyard Limited etc. The selected candidates will be inducted as Trainee for a period of one year extendable by another one year. During the training period, they will be paid a stipend of Rs. 7000/-per month during the first year and Rs. 7500/-per month during the second year. After successful completion of the training period based on his/her performance and considering the training period as experience, the candidate may be absorbed in W3 Grade i.e. Rs.6000-3%-16950 as Marine Fitter on regular basis subject to availability of the vacancies and passing the trade test.

11. POST : Safety Steward (On fixed term basis for 03 years) 02 RESERVATION : ST-01, UR-01 UPPER AGE LIMIT : ST-38 years, UR-33 years

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess ITI in any trade of Fitter/ Welder/ Electrician with minimum 02 years of experience in safety department of a company which should be ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certified company

SSC with minimum 01 year Diploma in Industrial safety/ fire & safety/ Safety management from a recognized institution with 01 year experience in safety department.

Desirable: Adequate knowledge of Konkani, Marathi & Hindi.

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess SSC with Certificate from deck/engine department and 2 years experience in the line / trade from a shipbuilding industry.

Desirable: The candidate should be proficient in his trade and should be able to carry out all activities related to his trade.

13. POST : Time Office Assistant 02 RESERVATION : UR-01; OBC-01 UPPER AGE LIMIT : UR-33 years; OBC-36 years

14. POST : Painter 01 RESERVATION : ST-01 UPPER AGE LIMIT : ST- 38 years

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess SSC and 02 years training in the respective trade in GSL or minimum 02 years experience in the line.

Desirable: The candidate with ITI in painting and experience in various types of blasting and spray painting will

be preferable. Preference will be given to the candidate who is having above experience as painter in

shipbuilding or Heavy Engineering Industry.

NOTE: Candidates with lower qualifications (not below 8th class pass) will also be considered for this post provided they have put in additional service equivalent to the shortfall of SSLC qualifications i.e. for example an 8th class pass candidate should have experience of 2 years over and above the prescribed experience mentioned in the advertisement.

15. POST : Carpenter 01 RESERVATION : ST-01 UPPER AGE LIMIT : ST-38 years

(Including age relaxation for reserved category) PAY SCALE : Rs. 5800-3%-15360 (W-2)

Essential Qualification & Experience: The applicant should possess SSC with 02 years training in the respective trade in GSL or 02 years experience in the line.

NOTE: Candidates with lower qualifications (not below 8th class pass) will also be considered for this post provided they have put in additional service equivalent to the shortfall of SSLC qualifications i.e. for example an 8th class pass candidate should have experience of 2 years over and above the prescribed experience mentioned in the advertisement.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

  1. The candidate may note that the applications are to be made only through online system as per the instructions given. Applications made in any other manner shall not be considered and shall be summarily rejected. Management will not be responsible for non receipt of any application which is not received through online system. On successful submission of the application form online, the candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form, attach required documents and send it to Goa Shipyard Limited before the last date at the address mentioned in this notification.

  2. Non-receipt of Hardcopy of application / incomplete application, application not supported by self-attested copies of relevant documents or applications not fulfilling the eligibility criteria or those received after last date of receipt of applications shall not be considered and shall be treated as REJECTED and no communication will be made for the same.

  3. Benefits such as DA, HRA and other allowances shall be applicable to the grade as per rules. In respect of Fixed Term Employees Basic, DA will be at par with regular employees. They will also be covered under the Certified Standing Orders of Company and other benefits will be extended as per the company rules.

  4. Candidates working in Government / Quasi Government / Public Sector Undertaking / Autonomous Bodies must apply through proper channel or produce No Objection Certificate at the time of selection process without which the candidates will not be allowed to appear for selection process. Such candidates will not be entitled for any TA claim also.

  5. Management reserves the right to raise the eligibility criteria for short-listing the applications.

  6. Selection process may consist of Written Test and / or Trade Test / Practical Test. Outstation candidates qualifying the written test and called for the Trade Test / Practical Test will be paid to and fro 2nd sleeper class rail fare by shortest route only on production of proof of journey (Hard copy of Tickets) as per rules of the Company. However, SC/ST candidates on being eligible for the written test and on appearing for written test will be reimbursed to and fro 2nd sleeper class rail fare by shortest route from their usual place of residence to GSL only on production of proof of journey (Hard copy of Tickets) as per rules of the Company.

  7. Payment of TA shall be made by ECS only, after completion of the selection process.

  8. Candidates who are appointed as trainees will be initially appointed for a period of one year extendable by another one year in the respective category with a consolidated monthly stipend during the first year of training and further extended period of training, if any. On successful completion of the training period, they may be regularized as probationers in the respective induction scale based on their performance during their training period and as per the requirement of the company subject to availability of the vacancies. A trainee will NOT be deemed to have been regularized until and unless he/she has been intimated about the same in writing by the management.

  9. Fixed term appointment does not confer any right for regular employment and on completion of prescribed tenure / completion of project; the services will be co-terminus without assigning any notice thereof.

  10. The Government directives on reservation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/ PWD/Ex-servicemen will be strictly followed.

  11. Candidates seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC(NCL), will have to submit caste certificate, ONLY in the prescribed Performa meant for Appointment to posts under the Government of India from the designated authority indicating clearly the candidates caste, the Act/Order under which the caste is recognized as SC/ST/OBC(NCL) and the Village/Town the candidate is ordinarily a resident of.

  12. If the SC/ST/OBC/PwD certificate has been issued in a language other than English/Hindi, the candidates will be required to submit a self-certified translated copy of the same either in English or Hindi.

  13. Upper age limit and experience will be considered as on 31.10.2016.

  14. Age relaxation will be given to internal eligible candidates as per the GSL rules.

  15. Relaxation in age limit for external candidates for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD/Ex-Serviceman will be as per Government of India guidelines in force.

  16. Ex-Apprentices of GSL who have undergone apprenticeship training in GSL for the trade they apply, will get age relaxation upto the extent of apprenticeship training period over and above the relaxation in age as per para (16) above.

  17. Candidates who have worked on FTE basis in GSL (previously or currently) will be granted age relaxation to the extent of their FTE employment period in GSL over and above the relaxations mentioned at paras (16) and (17) above.

  18. Minimum age for all the posts is 18 years.

  19. Candidates with lower qualifications (not below 8th class pass) in the following trades will also be considered for the said posts provided they have put in additional service equivalent to the shortfall of SSLC qualifications i.e. for example an 8th class pass candidate should have experience of 2 years over and above the prescribed experience mentioned in the advertisement. The trades are: Painter and Carpenter.

  20. The management reserves the right to reject the candidature if the candidates possess higher qualifications than prescribed in the advertisement.

  21. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.

  22. Canvassing in any form may lead to disqualification.

  23. At the sole discretion of GSL Management the number of vacancies notified shall be increased or reduced.

  24. In the event of any dispute or interpretation, the job specification with regard to the post notified shall be referred. However, for further clarification / interpretation the provisions as contained in the Recruitment and Career Development Plan for Workmen / Supervisors shall be final and binding, as applicable.

  25. Management further reserves the right to decide the criteria for screening of applications and internal rules and regulations and / or the procedures as per the past practice will be followed.

  26. The candidates are advised to send Demand Draft of Rs.200/- (Non-refundable) drawn in favour of Goa Shipyard Limited payable at Vasco-da-Gama, Goa as processing fee. Demand Drafts drawn in favour of other than Goa Shipyard Limited will not be considered and application will be REJECTED. Application without prescribed fee shall be liable for rejection. No fee is to be paid by SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India rules. No fee is required to be paid by departmental candidates.

  27. The management reserves the right to fill or not to fill the posts and mere fulfillment of qualifications and other requirements laid down does not entitle a candidate to be called for selection process.
