Qualification & Experience: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer / Information Technology or Masters in Computer Application with minimum 9 years of experience and 55% score or equivalent grade in final term or aggregate.

Job Description:

Candidate should have at least nine years of experience in system administration on the Linux / Unix environment. Experience with managing Zimbra email server, Purpose Built Backup Appliance (PBBA), Domain Name Servers, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Servers, Authentication Server, Print Server. Familiarity with managing and configuring network hardware and service protocols in a LAN environment, and fluency in Unix scripting language will be desirable. Knowledge of High Performance Computing cluster, Data Centre infrastructure and VMWare Infrastructure will be an added advantage.

The candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

Configuration, user management and backup of Zimbra Email servers.

Configuration & management of LDAP, FTP, DNS, and DHCP services.

Configuration and management of Print Server, user print quota allocation, installation and administration of Network Printers.

Backup of user data on EMC Data domain using Networker backup software.

Installation and management of central software server having software like IDL, Mathematica, Matlab, Python and other astronomy related software.

Installation and Configuration of servers, workstations and desktops.

User administration on IUCAA Cluster, LDAP Server, Email servers, and Gateway Server.

File system operations such as creation of NFS partitions, mounting and unmounting it on Linux servers and clients.

Extending user support with Linux desktops and laptops.

Inventory/Asset Management of Hardware & Consumables required for the computer centre.
