INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF

DIRECTOR, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND

RESEARCH (NISER), BHUBANESWAR, ODISHA

The Department of Atomic Energy is looking for a Director for the National Institute of Science, Education and Research (N1SER), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. NISER is an aided institution under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The institution has very vibrant educational programme such as Integrated M.Sc. and Ph.Din the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematical Sciences. NISER has already made its mark in undergraduate education and research.

The applicant is expected to have a very good experience in running Integrated Masters Programme in Science and ability to provide excellent academic and administrative leadership to the Institution. The candidate is further expected to have accomplished high standards of research among his peers and received due recognition in the learned societies. The candidate has to guide and motivate the team of young faculty members and other scientific personnel of the Institute apart from being responsible for implementation of various teaching and research programmes by optimum utilization of the resources.

Minimum Educational Qualification &Experience:A Ph.D. in Basic Sciences with 10 years experience at the level of Professor in an institute of national repute.

Desirable:National recognition, Membership in the National Science

Academies, receipt of prestigious awards in any specific academic area.

Age:The prospective candidate shall be between 50 and 55 years of age ason

30-04-2017.

Tenure: Selected candidate will hold the position for a period of 5 years or till

his superannuation.

Pay, Allowances and Service conditions: Selected candidate will be placed in the Level 17 of Pay Matrix as per VII CPC (Pre-revised Apex Scale of Rs. 80,000/-p.m. as per VI CPC). In addition to pay, the post carries allowances as per rules of the Government of India. The service conditions of Director, NISER shall be governed by the bye-laws of the Institute.

Selection Criteria: Selection will be made by the Government of India on the recommendations of a Search-cum-Selection Committee.
