Applications in the prescribed form are invited from qualified candidates of Indian Nationality for the post of Director of Physical Education in Mangalore University. The applications in TEN sets together with necessary documents should be sent in the envelope, superscribed on top of the cover APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF addressed to THE REGISTRAR, MANGALORE UNIVERSITY, MANGALAGANGOTHRI-574199, D.K., KARNATAKA on or before 29.07.2017 at 5.00 PM by RPAD. QUALIFICATIONS:
The minimum qualifications prescribed for the above post is as per the U.G.C. norms and the statute. Knowledge of Kannada is desirable.
DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
- (i) A Ph.D. in Physical Education.
- (ii) Experience of at least ten years as University Deputy Director of Physical Education or fifteen years as University Assistant DPEs/College (selection grade).
- (iii) Participation in at least two national/international seminars/conferences.
- (iv) Consistently good appraisal reports.
- (v) Evidence of organizing competitions and conducting coaching camps of at least two weeks duration.
- (vi) Evidence of having produced good performance teams/athletes for competitions like state/national/inter-university/combined university, etc.
- (vii) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) developed by the UGC in its Regulations.
NOTE:
- 1. Applications in the prescribed format were invited to fill up the post of Director of Physical Education vide notification cited at ref(2) and revised notification was issued to the same vide ref(3) restricting the eligibility to the candidates of Karnataka only. In the notification dated 17.03.2016 and 01.06.2016, though the number of teaching posts in the cadre of Professors and Assistant Professors etc. were indicated, the breakup of posts into Local and Residual Parent Cadres was not indicated in terms of Karnataka Public Employment (Reservation for appointment for Hyderabad Karnataka candidates) order 2013. Hence action has been taken for cadre bifurcation and with due approval from the Government, Notification had been issued vide reference (5). Hence the previous Notifications dated 17.03.2016 and 01.06.2016 stand cancelled. The candidates who have applied in response to the said notifications need to apply again with the prescribed fees.
- 2. A relaxation of 5% is provided in the minimum requirement of marks, i.e. from 55% to 50% at the Master's level for the SC/ST/differently abled category.
- 3. A relaxation of 5% is provided in the minimum requirement of marks, i.e. from 55% to 50% at the Master's level, to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991.
AGE LIMIT:
Persons who have completed 60 years of age need not apply.
APPLICATION & PROCESSING FEE:
The prescribed fee is Rs.1000/-(in case of SC/ST Rs.500/-)

The Application fees should be paid through Challan or by means of crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Finance Officer, Mangalore University payable at Mangalagangothri and submitted alongwith the filled application.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- 1. Ex-servicemen or children of defence personnel killed or disabled in action and Physically Handicapped Persons are exempted from payment of application fee(Govt. Notification No DPAR 142 SRR 2006 dtd: 05.11.2007) provided they furnish appropriate certificate issued by the Competent Authority along with the filled-in- applications.
- 2. The filled-in-application which does not accompany with the prescribed fee is liable for rejection.
- 3. Those who are in service should send their applications along with duly attested service certificate through proper channel on or before the last date fixed.
- 4. The copies of the publications and true copies of Testimonials/Certificates/ Statement of marks/ Services Certificate/Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority should be enclosed to all the Ten sets, which will not be returned.
- 5. The applicant shall carefully fill in the prescribed application form. The copies of documents in support of claim made must be enclosed to the application. If copies of documents are not sent with the application, claims made will be rejected. Documents not enclosed to the application but produced at the time of interview will also be rejected.
- 6. The applications received after the last date, the applications which are incomplete and those not in the prescribed format and less than Ten sets are liable to be rejected and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
- 7. The candidate will be held responsible for furnishing any false information in the application form and will be liable to action deemed fit including rejection of application.
- 8. Candidate selected should be prepared to work in Mangalore University Campus/Post Graduate Centres.
- 9. The selected candidates are governed by the Rules and Regulations of the University.
- 10. The Candidate selected will be appointed on probation for a period of two years; probationary period may be extended if the Authorities of the University so desire.
- 11. The selected candidate shall execute a service agreement with the University and they shall be governed by the New Pension Scheme as per Govt. Order No. FD(Spl)04 PET 2005, Bangalore, dated 31.03.2006 and further any Government orders issued in this behalf.
- 12. The application fee shall not be refundable under any circumstances.
- 13. Canvassing directly or indirectly will disqualify the candidates.
- 14. Candidates who have studied under Trimester System and other than 10 points grading system are required to produce the equivalent percentage certificate obtained from the respective University, if equivalence details are not mentioned in the mark sheets.
- 15. For all the clarifications in assessment of API scores or any parameter for the post and for any interpretational operation purpose, the UGC Regulations 2010 along with amendments and the University Statutes shall be followed/referred to (which are available in our University website).
- 16. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the post.
