All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar is one of the apex healthcare Institutes established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with an objective to establish a centre of excellence in medical education, training, health care and research imbued with scientific culture, compassion for the sick and commitment to serve the underserved. The Institute has been established as an autonomous institution and institute of National importance through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012. By virtue of this Act, the Institute grants its own medical degrees and other academic distinctions. The degrees granted by the Institute under All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012 are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act and notwithstanding anything contained therein, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that Act, entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from recognized Universities of India.

In the field of postgraduate and postdoctoral education, the most important function of the Institute is to provide opportunities to train teachers for medical colleges in the country in an atmosphere of research and development. Postgraduate and PostDoctoral students are exposed to newer methods of teaching and given opportunities to actively participate in teaching exercises. The other important objectives of the Institute are to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all the important branches of health activity and to attain selfsufficiency in postgraduate & postdoctoral medical education. Application in the attached format as available on the website https://www.aiimsbhubaneswar.edu.in are invited from Indian Citizens for the walk in interview to the PostDoctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Palliative Care Medicine for a maximum tenure period of one year at the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for the Academic session 201617. Candidates who are fulfilling all eligibility criteria as mentioned below may appear for a walkin interview on 24th September 2016. All original documents of DOB, MBBS, MD, Diploma, Experience along with NEFT receipt / demand draft of fees as specified may be carried along. Two photocopies of each document and two coloured photographs are to be brought. Candidates working in government agency may intimate to their employer about their appearing for the interview. However, they will submit NOC at the time of joining if applicable.

Selection procedure:

1. A written Examination based on MCQs in critical care medicine (total marks 80) will be conducted if more 3 candidates report for the walk in interview.
2. Candidates who get 50% marks or more in the written examination will be eligible for consideration for the Interview.
3. The merit list(s) for shall be prepared on the basis of combined marks of written test and interview as applicable.
4. The selection will be made on merit list and will be displayed on Notice Board of the Examination Section as well as on the website of AIIMS.
5. After filling of available posts all remaining candidates shall be kept in the waiting list that is valid till 30 December, 2016. They must leave two phone numbers and email / fax no. with Academic Section for faster communication.
6. Prior experience (research or clinical) or any other course in Palliative care as applicable will be given preference in selection process of upto 5 marks as decided by the committee.
7. Selected Candidate will be expected to stay in Institute Campus if offered residential accommodation.
