No: CUJ/DLRM/Advt./2017-18/ 04 Date: 1st Jan. 2019 Advertisement for Walk-in Interview Interested eligible candidates may appear in walk-in interview for the following positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Fellow (PF) (Total 02 positions initially) in Department of Land Resource Management (DLRM), Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), Ranchi under the following projects Project funded by Space Application Centre, ISRO, Department of Space, Govt. of India. 1. Estimating the spatio-temporal dynamics of Vegetation Biomass in Forest Ecosystems using Airborne (L & S Bands) SAR 2. Retrieval of biophysical parameters and estimation of gross primary productivit y in Indian forests using GISAT. Positions are purely on contractual basis and coterminous with the project. Details of the positions are as follows: Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Project Fellow (PF) Total positions: Initially for 02 positions Emolument (Per month): Rs. 25000 + HRA for 1st and 2nd Year and thereafter Rs. 28000 + HRA for 3rd Year as SRF. HRA shall be paid as per the University rules. (Candidates, with M. Sc. Degree and without NET if selected, will be paid @ Rs.16000/-+ HRA per month for initial two years and Rs. 18000 + HRA for the remaining periods with the designation of Project Fellow/ Senior Project Fellow respectively.) Project Duration: Two/ Three Years. The fellowship will be offered initially for a period of one year, which can be extended further depending upon performance of the candidate to the end of the project/ fund availability in the project. Essential qualifications: Minimum 55% in M.Sc. / M.Tech or equivalent degree in Remote Sensing/ GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Geoinformatics/ Geoinformation Science, OR M.Sc./ M.Tech in Forestry/ Botany/ Plant Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Civil Engineering/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Technology/ Hydrology/ Water Resources/ Physics along with PG. Diploma in Remote Sensing/ GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Geomatics. Preference may be given to the candidates with proven research experience & field knowledge as per requirement of the projects. Desirable qualifications: Candidates having experience and knowledge in large data handling (satellite data, satellite data products, Census, meteorological data etc.), working knowledge of Hyperspectral/ Microwave Remote Sensing, R, Python, MATLAB software(s), GPS, DGPS etc., and forest related field survey will be preferred. Role and Responsibilities: JRF/ RF will be responsible to carry out various image processing activities and GIS analysis. The team will also perform the extensive field activities related to project as assigned by the Principal Investigators. Date of Walk-in Interview: 22nd Jan. 2019 (Reporting time: 9:00 to 11:30 am) NOTE: 1. The above positions are purely temporary and will be filled on Contractual basis. The selected candidates shall have no right /claim for regular appointment at this Institute, as the engagement is co-terminus with the Project. 2. Two candidate may be shortlisted initially for two projects. The waitlisted candidates may be called against any vacant project position(s) in the SAC ISRO projects within six months from the date of interview. 5. Candidates will be strongly encouraged to pursue Ph.D. research in the relevant topic and he/she will be encouraged to get registered in the PhD. The candidature will be subjected to verification of your all certificates, degrees and testimonials in original as per the essential qualifications/ experiences etc. for the aforesaid positions. The selected candidates need to join the project immediately.
