Engagement of Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973

The Institute for Plasma Research is a premier scientific institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India devoted to research and development activities in the areas of basic Plasma Physics, Magnetic Confinement, fusion and industrial applications of plasmas.IPR is located in Bhat Village and also has extensions of its Laboratories at GIDC, Sector 25, Gandhinagar and has a centre at Guwahati.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprentices (Amendment) Act,1973 (as amended from time to time) in the Trade/ Degree / Diploma mentioned below:

Engagement of Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961

1. Draughtsman (Mechanical) Draughtsman Mechanic (IstClass)from ITI or 1 its equivalent

2. Electronics Mechanic Refrigeration & A/C Mechanic (IstClass)from 1 ITI or its equivalent

3. Programming and Systems

H.S.C. + C.O.P.A. (Computer Operator cum

13 Administration Assistant

Programming Assistant) (IstClass)from ITI or (PASAA)

its equivalent

Engagement of Apprentices under Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973

Age Limits: 26 years and relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidatesand 10 years for PwD candidates.

Amount of Stipend: Consolidated `9000/-p.m. for Graduate Apprentices (Degree holder), `8000/-p.m. for Technician Apprentices (Diploma holder) and `7000/-p.m. for Trade Apprentices (ITI).

Period of Training: The duration of the apprenticeship is one year for all apprentices.The Institute shall have no obligation to give regular employment to Apprentices. The Apprentices shall have no right to claim regular employment from Institute on the basis of this apprenticeship at any point of time.

Apprentice Registration: All aspiring candidates must be registered on respective web portal.

Last Date of submission of application: 14th August, 2018.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Candidates shall have passed out Degree, Diploma and ITI with Ist Class in respective subject either this year i.e. 2018 or previous year i.e. 2017.
  2. Those who have already attended the apprenticeship training elsewhere will not be considered.

    1. Selection will be purely on merit basis. Any form of canvassing will result in cancellation of candidature.

    2. The list of shortlisted candidates and date of document verification will be displayed on IPR Web portal http://www.ipr.res.in/documents/jobs_career.html.
  3. The candidates appearing on the merit will be intimated through email.
  4. Candidates must report at IPR and join the apprenticeship programme on the stipulated date otherwise their candidature will be cancelled and their offer will stand withdrawn. No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates.
  5. The candidature of the applicant would be provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates/testimonials, medical fitness etc.
  6. At any stage of the selection process, if it is found that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled.
  7. Accommodation will not be provided to apprentices during the apprenticeship period. The apprentices shall make their own arrangement for accommodation.
  8. Disrespectful, belligerent, dishonest, procrastinating and escapist behaviour of an apprentice will hamper the outcome of this training scheme. Therefore, if these such things are brought to the notice of IPR authorities and the apprentice does not correct himself / herself even after three official memos then his / her apprenticeship may be terminated in consultation with Apprenticeship Adviser.
