1.

Senior Consultant:

Social Empowerment & Education

Provide technical inputs/opinion on the issue related to domain area as referred by MWCD;

Liaise with and strengthen the interface on social empowerment with participating Ministries/Departments, State Governments/UTs, other relevant institutions;

Ensure collation and documentation of information, disaggregated data relating to education and other social empowerment issues, particularly with regard to women;

Review policies and programmes relating to social empowerment of women;

Undertake/commission and supervise research studies to assist in framing policies and programmes under the convergence mandate of NMEW in coordination with participating Ministries/Departments;

Evolve strategies towards lowering the gender gaps in literacy and developing minimum standards in elementary school to ensure quality education to girls of all age groups,

Monitor various schemes related to education like ICDS, as well as other social empowerment programmes;

Recommend issues or proposals for activities to be taken up for convergence and coordination on the particular domain area by the NMEW

Recommend strategies to be adopted and studies to be conducted with regard to the particular domain area by the State Resource Centres for Women;

Undertake/Supervise training and capacity building initiatives/activities pertaining to the domain area

Essential Qualification

Masters Degree in Education/ Sociology /Social work/any other related field. Ph.D in the relevant field is desirable.

Minimum experience of 10 years of working on social empowerment issues with special focus on women.

Good understanding and knowledge of social empowerment issues as well as policies and programmes of the Government at the national level

Desirable

Previous experience of working with the Government/NGOs/International Organisations or on policy issues at the national or international level is highly desirable

Previous publications, articles and papers in the area of expertise, with particular emphasis on women is desirable

Age limit 35 - 55 years.

Salary: Rs 60,000-75,000 per month

Should be prepared to travel for consultations with stakeholders, carrying out impact assessment and other studies. TA/DA in respect of journey undertaken in connection with official work as per approved rates issued by competent authority in the Ministry.

2.

Senior Consultant:

Media, Awareness Generation, Advocacy and Mass Communication

Provide technical inputs/opinion on the issue related to domain area as referred by MWCD; Conducting activities as well as providing technical inputs/opinions relating to awareness generation and advocacy on womens issues as referred to by the MWCD;

Devising strategies to build linkages with print and electronic media for dissemination of the objectives and the achievements of the govt. in the area of women development and women empowerment/ entrepreneurship;

Coordination and networking with other

Masters Degree in Mass Communication/Journalism/any other related field.

Minimum experience of 5 years in the field of mass communication, media related advocacy, journalism with special emphasis on womens issues.

Good understanding and knowledge of womens issues, as well as policies and programmes of the Government at the national level

divisions in the Ministry to evolve strategies for enhancing media participation in highlighting the programmes and schemes related to them;

Support to develop BCC action and training plans for womens development

Develop and ensure publication of newsletters, booklets and other literature for use by different target groups/beneficiaries.

Interact with electronic media and preparation of software too propagate programmes are initiatives on womens empowerment undertaken under NMEW.

Desirable

Consultant-Information Technology

Design database applications such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, global temporary tables, data partitions, and function-based indexes to enable efficient access of the generic database structure;

Design database to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability, translating an informational content into a functional website. Mapping or outlining a websites structural content;

Assist the Systems Manager in preparing and updating the MIS, as and when required

Creating or editing images and graphics for website use, Demonstrate database technical functionality, such as performance, security and reliability;

Coding website using relevant software; submitting completed site to search engines;

The overall objective of the position would be to enable the efficient and smooth functioning of the specific domain area with the purpose of implementing the activities of NMEW

The candidates should have Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications or Degree in Computer Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience in Electronic Data Processing, Web-designing etc.

Good understanding of womens issues as well as policies and programmes of the Government

Desirable

Previous experience of working with the Government/NGOs/International Organisations or on policy issues at the national or international level is highly desirable.

Age limit 30-40 years.

Salary Rs 45, 000 60,000 per month

Should be prepared to travel extensively for consultations with stakeholders and advocacy programmes. TA/DA in respect of journey undertaken in connection with official work as per approved rates issued by competent authority in the Ministry
