Trade Apprentices Selection
Notice No. TA/2017/1
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited a premier public sector enterprise, under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India having comprehensive capability in all facets of Nuclear Technology namely, Site Selection, Design, Construction, Commissioning, Operation, Maintenance, Renovation, Modernization and Up-gradation, Plant Life Extension, Waste Management and Decommissioning of Nuclear Reactors in India under one roof.
Applications from the candidates passed out from ITI Courses are invited for engagement of Trade Apprentices under Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended from time to time in the Kaiga Generating Station, Kaiga in Uttara Kannada District, Karnataka to make it more responsive to the needs of youth and industry.
The Trades and vacancies to be engaged are:

Government of India Orders on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD as applicable for engagement of Apprentices shall be followed. |
Note: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprentice training under the Apprentice Act, 1961 in any Central / State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or any Private Organisation ae not eligible to apply.
General Conditions:
- The age of the applicant should not be below 16 years. Maximum age limit is 24 years for General candidates as on 31.07.2017. Relaxation to SC, ST, OBC & PWD candidates would be given as per the Government of India orders.
- The candidate should possess the required physical standard as below:
- The candidates will be short listed for training on the basis of marks obtained in their ITI course.
- The candidates shall be engaged after qualifying the standard medical examination.
- The apprentices shall be paid Stipend as follows:
Height | 137 cms and above. |
Weight | 25.4 kgs and above. |
Chest measurement | Expansion should not be less than 3.8 cms. (irrespective of size of chest). |
Vision | There should be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye and the lids of either eye which may be liable to risk or aggravation or recurrence. |
- a.
- 90 % of the minimum wage of Semi-skilled workers notified by Govt. of Karnataka if he/she had undergone 2 yrs ITI training course.
- b.
- 80% of the minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by Govt. of Karnataka if he/she has undergone 1 yr ITI training course.
- The place of training shall be Plant Site, Kaiga, Via Karwar, Kaiga 581400, Uttara Kannada District, Karnataka.
- The Engagement and training are strictly in compliance with the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and there is no obligation for employment of the Apprentices on Completion of their training.
- The candidate has to produce a Police Verification Certificate from the District Police Authority and a Character/Conduct certificate from the concerned institution at the time of reporting for training.
- Management reserves the right to cancel or alter the no. of seats of particular trade or even the entire process of engagement of apprentice without assigning any reason what so ever.
- Any person engaged to undergo apprentice training in a designated trade shall enter in to contract of apprenticeship with NPCIL as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship rules, 1992. The contract of apprenticeship shall terminate on the expiry of the period of apprenticeship training. Any premature or extension of contract of apprenticeship shall be dealt as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship rules, 1992.
- There is no provision of providing hostel facility or any other form of residential accommodation shall be provided to the apprentices.
- Candidates should submit only one application form and not more than one irrespective of number of trade applied for.
HOW TO APPLY:
1) The candidates shall have to submit their application alongwith the documents through web portal www.apprenticeship.gov.in. For applying through online, initially they have to register themselves in the said web portal.
OR
2) If there is no internet facility or any problem exists for applying through online the following steps shall be followed:
a) The candidates may download the application form (Annexure-1) from the npcil website www.npcil.nic.in/Carreer & HR Management/Opportunities. Before applying the candidate should ensure his/her eligibility for apprentice training.
b) Candidates should submit self attested photo copies of the following certificates along with their application:
- Educational qualification (10th /12th mark sheets).
- ITI Certificate and Mark sheets.
- Other qualification / experience certificates.
- Conduct Certificate from TWO Gazetted Officers.
- Caste certificates of those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC.
c) The duly filled in application form affixing your passport size photograph on the space provided along with self attested copies of all supported documents may be sent in the following address:

3) Incomplete/erroneous application or applications without proper enclosures will be summarily rejected without any communication.
4) The applications should reach us on or before the last date i.e., 24/08/2017. Application received after the last date for any reason will not be considered.
