Vacancy Notice

Notice for inviting application for the post of Ombudsman for Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (for the State of Goa and Union Territories except Delhi)

The Commission under sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 3 of the JERC (Appointment and Functioning of Ombudsman) Regulations, 2009 is required to appoint an Ombudsman (for the State of Goa and Union Territories). The appointment of Ombudsman shall be for a term of upto three years from the date of appointment or till he/she attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. The Head Quarters of the office of the Ombudsman shall be at Gurgaon.

A person willing to apply for the post of Ombudsman shall be a person of integrity, repute and standing preferably in the electricity sector having experience in any of the areas of Law, Management, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Public Administration, who has served at the level of Joint Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent or as Additional District Judge or Chief Engineer in the Government of

India/ State Government or equivalent or General Manager in Schedule A Central Public Sector

Undertaking (CPSU) or equivalent in any public or private sector undertaking or a non-governmental organization whole level of experience in the opinion of the Commission can be treated as comparable to the aforesaid. Notwithstanding anything above, the Commission may designate any of its Officers to act as the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman so appointed shall be eligible to receive a consolidated remuneration of Rs.55,000/-(Rupees Fifty Five Thousand Only). He shall be also entitled to Rs. 10,000/-per month as conveyance allowance and Rs. 1000/-towards use of mobile for official purpose. In case of travel outside Headquarter, he shall be entitled to travel expenses limited to economy class airfare and TA/DA as eligible to Class-1 officers of the rank of Joint Secretary in the Central Government. He shall also be entitled to 12 days casual leave in a calendar year.
