Notification

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Heavy Passenger Vehicle Drivers and Conductors in Transport Wing, Engineering Unit, University of Kerala to be engaged on daily wage basis as and when required.

Drivers :

Eligibility Conditions:

(i)

A pass in SSLC or its equivalent.

(ii)

Must possess a valid Motor Driving Licence with badge, endorsement to drive Heavy Passenger Vehicles should have completed ten(10) years or more after taking Heavy Passenger Vehicles Licence, must not have been punished at any time for rash and negligent driving or drunken driving.

(iii) Date of birth must be between 01/01/1978 and 01/01/1989.

Note:

(i)

The Driving License must remain valid through allthe stages of selection process.

(ii)

Proficiency in driving heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles will be examined by a Practical Test (Ttest and Road test) conducted by University during the course of selection. Only those who pass the Ttest/Ground test are eligible for Road Test.

(iii)A screening test in Malayalam willbe conducted in case the number of applications are more.

(iv) Physical Fitness

Must not be less than 165 cm in height and 83 cm round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. In the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe the minimum height shallbe 160 cm.

Note

(i)

Each eye must have a full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or any morbid conditions of the eye or lids of either eye will be deemed to be a disqualification. Must be free from apparent physical defects like knockknee, flat foot, varicose vein, bow legs, deformed hands and limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing.

(ii)

Candidates should produce a MedicalCertificate in originalin the form prescribed here under certifying to their physicalfitness and eye sight without glass at the time of PracticalTest. MedicalCertificate has two parts. Part A should be obtained from an ophthalmologist in government service and Part B should be obtained from a MedicalOfficer under the Government not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon/Junior

Consultant. This Medical Certificate shall in original shall be produced at the time of certificate verification

Eligibility Conditions:

(1)

Pass in S.S.L.C or any equivalent qualification.

(2)

PhysicalMeasurements:

(a)

Height 158 cms (A relaxation of 5 cms willbe allowed to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled caste/Scheduled Tribe communities. It is sufficient that they possess 153 cms Height).

(b)

Chest 76 cms. Minimum expansion of 5 cms.

(3)Must posses a valid conductor's license

(4)Date of birth must be between 01/01/1979 and 01/01/1997

(5)Physically Handicapped candidates are not eligible to apply for the post.

Terms and Conditions .

1. Mode of engagement willon as and when required basis.
2. The selected candidates shallnot at any time ,during the tenure of engagement in university on as when required basis directly or indirectly engage in or take up any other form of employment.
3. The post notified is temporary and shallnot bestow any right whatsoever on the selected person for any service benefits or preferentialclaim for reemployment or retirement benefits.
4. The candidates are required to attend the exams, tests, interviews conducted for the selection at their own expense.
