INDIAN COUNCIL OF HISTORICAL RESEARCH NOTIFICATION No. 2/2018/SAF SENIOR ACADEMIC FELLOWSHIPS (S.A.F.), 2019-2020

Applications are invited from eligible candidates in the prescribed form, which has to reach to the undersigned through email and registered postal service on or before 30.12.2018 for the award of Senior Academic Fellowships (SAF), The value of fellowship is Rs. 44000/-per month with a contingency grant of Rs. 44000/-per annum for a period of two years.

A. The maximum number of Senior Academic Fellowships (SAF) available for the year 2019-2020 are 10 (ten) only, applying the usual reservation for SC, ST& PWD.

B. The Fellowship shall be a whole-time engagement for research work and cannot be combined with any other whole-time or part-time work (for details see Terms and Conditions in the ICHR Research Funding Rules booklet, Chapter-II-Fellowships which is available in our official website i.e. www.ichr.ac.in

C. The period of the Fellowship shall be for Two years maximum.

D. The award of SAF will be through presentation-cum-interview.

1. ELIGIBILITY:

Senior Fellowships are awarded to senior scholars who have done quality work and have publications in the form of books and papers in professional journals related to history to their credit.

2. SELECTION PROCEDURE:

• On the basis of the experts assessment (if recommended), selected candidates shall be required to make a presentation for half an hour on the proposed subject of research.
  
  
• The award of the Fellowship will be decided by a Committee of specialists, on the basis of the experts evaluation of the proposal and the presentation made by the candidate.
  
  
• The presentation by the applicant will be held at the ICHRs offices and date & venue will be announced on the ICHRs website.
  
  

3. NOTE:

The candidates who are selected to make presentation or appear for interviews will be reimbursed their travel charges to the extent of 3AC railway fare chargeable by the shortest routes from Railway Station nearest to their normal place of residence or from where they actually perform the journey on production of ticket(s).

General conditions:

1) Indian Council of Historical Research reserves the right:

a.

to fix criteria for screening the applications so as to shortlist candidates to be called for presentation;

b.

to increase/decrease the number of fellowships on its own discretion.

c.

not to award any of the advertised fellowships.

2) Application of Reservation rules in the award of Fellowships is subject to certain clarifications to be received from the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

3) In the Application form the section for categories is for Administrative purposes (e.g. preparation of statistical data).

4) Incomplete applications as well as applications received after the prescribed date will not be considered.
