2. APPLICATIONS & FEES:

   1. The candidates are requested to submit the applications through online, Applicants can print / save their application in PDF Format.

   2. The candidates are requested to send a copy of the printed application form along with the Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- for SC / SC(A) / ST category and Rs.750/- for others drawn in favour of "The Comptroller, TNAU, Coimbatore 641 003 and dated not earlier than 03.05.2017 and with the copies of the relevant academic certificates to the Registrar, TNAU, Coimbatore 641 003 by Registered post with acknowledgment Due or by courier mail or in person and the envelope containing the applications should be superscribed on the left corner as "Application for the post of Assistant Agricultural Officer" before 5.00 p.m. on 22.05.2017.

   3. Concession in the matter of fees allotted to SC, SC(A) and ST categories of person has to produce evidence for such claim.

4. QUALIFICATIONS:

   (a) AGE (as on 30.04.2017)

   1. AGE CONCESSION

      1. For Differently Abled Persons:

         Differently Abled Persons are eligible for age concession up to 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed above.

      2. For Ex-servicemen

         1. No maximum age limit for the Applicants who belong to SC, SC (A), ST, MBC/DC, BC and BCM.

         2. The maximum age limit is 48 years for others (i.e.) Applicants not belonging to any of the above said categories.

            Note:

         3. The above mentioned age concession will not apply to the Applicants those who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

            Others [i.e. Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs] who have put in 5 years and more of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even if they are within the age limit.

   2. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 30.04.2017):-

      Applicants should possess the following Qualification :

      1. Must possess adequate knowledge in Tamil *

         * Explanation : For this purpose, a person will be deemed to possess an adequate knowledge of Tamil if he has passed the SSLC Public Examination or its equivalent examination with Tamil as one of the languages or studied the High School Course in Tamil Medium and passed the SSLC Public examination in Tamil Medium or passed the second class language Test (Full Test) in Tamil.

         Note

         1. The qualification prescribed for this post should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies SSLC, HSC and Diploma. The results of exam should have been declared on or before the date of notification.

         2. Applicants claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification should produce and submit evidence for equivalence of qualification in the form of

         G.O. issued prior to the date of this notification when called for, failing which their application will be summarily rejected. The G.Os issued regarding equivalence of prescribed qualification after the date of this notification will not be accepted.

   3. SCHEME OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION (OBJECTIVE TYPE) :-

      Note :

      1. The question paper in Paper I and II will be set both in Tamil and English

      2. The syllabus for the subjects mentioned in Paper-I and Paper-II are as find in Annexure I to this Notification.

      1. Diploma in Agriculture candidates refer the syllabus content given under

         1. Diploma in Agriculture and Diploma in Horticulture candidates refer the syllabus content given under (B) Diploma in Horticulture

   4. SELECTION PROCEDURE :-

   Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and

   (ii) Oral Test in the form of an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates at the Written Examination and Oral Test taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments.

5. GENERAL INFORMATION:-

   1. The rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to this post. The distribution of vacancies will be as per rules in force.

   2. Deaf and Orthopedically handicapped persons alone are eligible for 3% reservation of vacancies intended for Differently Abled persons for this post.

   3. The Differently Abled Persons should produce a copy of certificate of physical fitness specifying the nature of physical handicap and the degree of disability based on the norms laid down, from the Medical Board to the effect that his/her handicap will not render him/her incapable of efficiently discharging the duties attached to the post to which he/she has been selected when called for by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

   4. In G.O.Ms.No.145, Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S) Department dated 30.09.2010 and G.O.Ms.No.40, Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S) Department dated 30.04.2014 the Government have issued Orders to fill up 20% of all vacancies in direct recruitment on preferential basis to Persons who studied the prescribed qualification in Tamil Medium. The 20% reservation of vacancies on preferential allotment to Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) will apply for this recruitment and will be applicable to the Applicants who have acquired the prescribed qualification in Tamil Medium. (Applicants claiming PSTM preference must produce certificate issued by Head of Institution as proof.

      Having written the examination in Tamil language alone will not qualify for claiming this preference). If the Applicants with PSTM certificate are not available for selection for appointment against preferential turn such turn shall be filled up by other eligible Applicants but belonging to the respective communal category.

   5. The number of vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable to modification with reference to vacancy position at any time including reduction before finalization of selection.

   6. Reservation for Destitute Widows and Ex-Servicemen will apply to this recruitment.

   7. As per Section 27(C) of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (conditions of service) Act 2016, reservation to Ex-Servicemen will apply for the said post. If no qualified and suitable Ex-Servicemen belonging to a particular category is available for selection for appointment against reserved turn, such turn shall be filled up by an Applicant other than Ex-Servicemen but belonging to the particular communal category. As per proviso to section 3(j) (vii)(Tamil Nadu Government servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016) an Ex-serviceman once recruited to a post in any class or service or category, cannot claim the concession of being called an Ex-serviceman for his further recruitment.

   8. If no qualified and suitable women Applicants are available for selection against the vacancies reserved for them, those vacancies will be filled by male Applicants belonging to the respective communal categories.

   9. Even after filling up of the vacancies reserved for SC Arunthathiyars on preferential basis, if more number of qualified Arunthathiyars are available, they shall be entitled to compete with the Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars in the inter-se merit among them and if any post reserved for Arunthathiyars remain unfilled for want of adequate number of qualified Applicants, it shall be filled up by Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars.

   10. Evidence for claims made in the online application should be submitted in time when called for the documents. Any subsequent claim made thereafter on submission of online application will not be entertained.

   11. Correct and True information regarding arrest, convictions / debarment / disqualification by any recruiting agency, criminal or any disciplinary proceedings initiated / pending or finalized, participation in agitation or any Political Organization, candidature in election for Parliament/State Legislature/Local Bodies etc., if any, should also be furnished to the Commission at the time of application i.e., the details thereof, originals of the Judgement, order or G.O dropping further action in Departmental proceedings or any document that may prove the suitability of such Applicants for a Government appointment in such cases must be produced at the stage / time of Certificate Verification without fail.

   12. Applications containing wrong claims relating to category of reservation / other basic qualification/eligibility wise/age/communal categories / educational qualification / physical qualification and other basic eligibility criteria will be liable for rejection.

   13. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will not be responsible for any consequences arising out of furnishing of incorrect and incomplete details in the application or omission to provide the required details in the application forms.

   14. The selection for appointment to the above said post is purely provisional subject to final Orders on pending Writ Petitions, if any, filed at Madras High Court and Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

6. EXAMINATION:-

   1. Hall tickets will be sent to the communication address of the eligible candidates.
   2. Centres:

      1. Agricultural College and Research Institutes viz., Coimbatore, Madurai,

         Killikulam, Vazhavachanur

      2. Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam.

      3. Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Trichy

   3. Written examination will be of Objective type using OMR sheets.

   4. Short listed candidates will be called for oral interview at TNAU, Coimbatore.

   Note :

   Applicants should appear for the written examination / Oral Test / Certificate Verification at their own expenses.

7. NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE AND INFORMATION TO THE EMPLOYER:

   No Objection Certificate obtained from appropriate authority shall be produced at the time of Certificate Verification. Failure to produce at that time, the application will be rejected.

   Any violation of this instruction will be liable for / end in rejection of application and forfeit his/her candidature.

8. OTHER IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:-

   1. Applicants are not allowed to bring Pager, Cellular Phone, Watches and Ring with inbuilt, Memory Notes etc., or any other Electronic device and Non electronic devices such as P&G Design Data Book, Books, Notes, Hand Bags to the examination hall / room on the date of examination.

   2. If they are found to be in possession of any such thing or instrument they will not be allowed to write the examination further, besides invalidation of answer paper and / or debarment. If it is considered necessary they will be subjected to thorough physical search including frisking on the spot.

   3. Do not bring into the Examination Hall any article such as books, notes, loose sheets, electronic or any other type of calculators, mathematical and drawing instruments, Log Tables, stencils of maps, slide rules, Text Books, rough sheets etc., except the permitted writing material (i.e. pen).

   4. Applicants are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including Mobile Phones / Pagers to the venue of the examination, as

      arrangements for safekeeping cannot be assured.

   5. If any of their claim is found to be incorrect, it will lead to rejection / debarment.

   6. Unfair means strictly prohibited: No Applicant shall copy from the papers of any other Applicant or permit his papers to be copied or give or attempt to give or obtain or attempt to obtain irregular assistance of any description
   7. Conduct in Examination Hall: No Applicant should misbehave in any manner or create a disorderly scene in the Examination Hall or harass the staff employed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University for the conduct of the examination. Any such misconduct will be severely viewed and penalised.

   8. For violation of Instructions to Applicants in any manner suitable penalty will be imposed as per the Instructions to Applicants or as deemed fit by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

   9. Applications containing wrong claims relating to other basic qualifications / eligibility criteria / age / communal categories / educational qualification will be liable for rejection.

      1. Candidates must be Indian Nationals

      2. Candidates who satisfy the conditions prescribed should appear for examination at their own cost.

      3. Short listed candidates will be called for interview based on the written examination and they should attend the interview at their own cost.

      4. The summoning of the candidate for interview conveys no assurance whatsoever that he / she will be recommended or selected or his/her conditions specified in the application will be accepted.

      5. TNAU reserves the right ethics to fill up (or) cancel the Notification published for recruit to the post of Assistant Agricultural Officer.

      6. Any attempt by the candidate, either directly or indirectly to influence the Selection Committee or other authorities of the University will disqualify the candidate for the post.

      7. Candidates who are selected shall be liable for transfer to any other place within the jurisdiction of the University.

      8. The age of retirement is fifty eight years.

      9. The candidate should abide by the Act, Statutes and Regulations (ASR) of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

      10. The application form shall be filled in, complete in all respects, giving correct information. Defective and incomplete applications and those with wrong or false information will be summarily rejected.

      11. Persons who are already working in the University / State / Central Government or any other organization should send their applications through proper channel. For delay in receipt of the applications through proper channel University will not be held liable.

      12. Evidence of Degree / Community / Date of Birth / Nativity Certificate and other certificates and testimonials should be brought in original at the time of interview.

      13. Application should reach the Office of the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore 641 003, before the time and date fixed. (On or before 5.00 p.m. on 22.05.2017)

9. CERTIFICATE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS:-

   Applicants selected for appointment to the post will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness Certificate obtained from the TNAU Medical Officers in the prescribed TNAU Format.
