The CRTDH, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for Postdoctoral Position for working on a project entitled "Development of Microwave Absorbing Materials with Broad Absorption Bandwidth for Stealth and Communication Applications ".

The prospective candidate is expected to have a strong background in materials synthesis and characterization especially in the area of microwave absorbing materials. The prior knowledge of synthesis of nanomaterials via chemical/ physical methods with hands-on experience in processing as well as characterization techniques, such as XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM, VSM , VNA and other electrical properties will be the desirable qualification. Other research activities may include participating in research discussion with overseas universities, industries and research centers.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

The prospective candidate should have following qualifications i.e., PhD from any of the premier institutes of the country in Chemistry, Material Science, Physics, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Sciences or equivalent areas, good publication record in the area of modeling and characterizations for microwave sensor related device. Candidate should have good command with simulation software like HFSS, COMSOL, FEKO etc and good command in programming skill like LabView, MATLAB, C++. Candidates who have recently submitted

their doctoral thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will furnish the proof of award of PhD degree at the time of interview.

Duration and Fellowship amount

The duration of the fellowship will be of two years. The candidate is expected to join the Department as soon as offer letter has been released. The fellow will receive a consolidated fellowship as below in addition with the contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per annum.

First Year: Rs. 50,000/- per month

Second Year: Rs. 55,000/- per month

Notes:

(i) The Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) will be registered as IIT Roorkee students for availing the

facilities of accommodation, hospital, medical insurance scheme, computer centre, library,

sports, etc.

(ii) The candidates called for discussion/interview will be paid II-AC train fare from their place of residence/work and back by the shortest route within India.

About the Department

The Department has strong research programmes leading to Ph.D. degree in all the areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering. A large number of Ph.D. scholars are currently engaged in cutting edge research in the Department. In addition to the well equipped curriculum related laboratories, the Department has many state of the art facilities for assisting research and development in Microwave Imaging and Space Technology Application, RF Engineering, microwave mm wave circuits, digital signal processing, image processing, wireless technology, solid state devices, and VLSI. These have been set up with support from Government agencies and industries. The Department has successfully completed a large number of sponsored research projects funded by various agencies such as DIT, DST, MHRD, DOE, DRDO, PRL, Naval Research, ISRO, DSIR and Army Technology Board.
