Application for 1 post of Junior Research fellow for a DST funded project is invited.

Project Title:

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor and gene polymorphisms among South Indian patients with diabetic dyslipidemia

funded by Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Educational Qualification: Post graduate degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, MLT, M.Tech (Biotechnology) and have a valid certificate.

The following examniation are considered as per SERB notification. CSIR/UGC National Entrance Test (NET) including LS, GATE, JAM, GPAT or CSIR/UGC NET, Biotechnology eligibility test and test conducted by Bioinformatics National consortium or ICMR-JRF or ICAR-AICE.

Note:

Candidates without NET are also eligible to apply; the salary specification for those without NET will be as per DST Norms: Rs. 16,000/- for first and second year and Rs. 18,000/- for third year with 20% HRA.

The post is purely temporary in nature, co-terminus with the project.

Research experience: Preferred.

Lab experience: Hands on training experience in DNA extraction, real time PCR and ELISA.

Duration of project: 3 years.

Salary: First and second year salary of Rs. 25,000/- +20% HRA.

Third year salary of Rs.28,000/-+20%HRA as per as DST guideline.

Selection procedure: Written test and interview to be held at the Department of Endocrinology, JIPMER tentatively by early June. All future correspondence including date of written test and interview will be communicated through email. Decision of project investigators on all aspects of selection process will be final. No correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
