Student Council Elections - Call for Nominations

Nominations are invited from the aspiring candidates for the following Executive Committee positions. The Nominations in the prescribed proforma should reach the office of the Dean, Student Welfare by 12:30PM on 13-08-2018. Application forms can be downloaded from the Institute Website or can also be obtained from the Deans office.

Candidates, if they so desire, can withdraw latest by 5:00 PM on 13-08-2018.

The Elections for the posts of the secretaries and deputy Secretaries will be Held at 11:30AM on Tuesday i.e 14-08-2018 .

Election of Class Representatives (CR)

The election for CRs will be held on Tuesday i.e 14-08-2018 at 9:00-11:00AM in their respective classes.

Class representatives for each class shall be elected by all the students of that class, if there is only one section. If there is more than one section in a given year of a particular branch, each section shall elect its class representative.

Candidate should have a minimum CGPA of 6.5 and in no event have any active academic backlogs.

1.	One CR from each section of First Year B.Tech.
2.	One CR from each section of Second YearB.Tech.
3.	One CR from each section of Third Year B.Tech.
4.	One CR from each section of Final Year B.Tech.
5.	The number of Class Representatives from different branches for M.Tech. students shall be as follows:
	Civil Engineering	2 (1 from ES,CTM,WRE,EE& 1 from GTE,TE, ,RS&GIS)
	Electrical Engineering	1
	Mechanical Engineering	2 (1 from TE,ME, MD,CIM, & 1 from AE,MSED,AM)
	Electronics & Communication Engineering	1
	Metallurgical & Materials Science	1
	Chemical Engineering	1
	Computer Science & Engineering	1
6.	One PG representative from each Science Department.
7.	One PG representative M.C.A. course.
8.	One PG representative from M.B.A. course.
9.	One Student is to be nominated by the Director to represent the foreign students.

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ALL CANDIDATES

1. Under graduate students between the ages of 17 to 22 years may contest elections. For P.G. Students, the maximum age limit would be 25 years.

2. The candidate shall not have a previous criminal record.

3. The candidate shall not have been subject to any disciplinary action by the Institute authorities.

4. The candidate must be a regular and full time student of the Institute.

5. The candidate should not have any dues to Institute and Hostels.

6. The students who are carrying out their dissertation / project work outside the Institute and those who have fellowships from outside the country will not be eligible to contest the elections..
