- NIRD&PR is the country's apex organisation for undertaking training, research and action research and consultancy in all aspects of rural development. It provides an inter-disciplinary academic environment, backed by an excellent infrastructure including a specialized library and state-of-art and computer facilities.
- NIRD&PR invites application for the tenure based position of Senior Fellow (3 positions) and the requirement for the position, age and remuneration, etc. are as follows:

ii) Senior Bankers with a flair for rural development; | |||||||||||||||||||||
iii) Senior Officers both serving and retired from the Government of India/ | |||||||||||||||||||||
States, | Public | Sector | Undertakings, | persons | serving | in | |||||||||||||||
Government/Government Organizations may either be taken on deputation | |||||||||||||||||||||
basis | or | on | sanction of study leave by the parent organization for the | ||||||||||||||||||
purpose; | |||||||||||||||||||||
iv) Senior academics and scholars working | on | subjects relating to rural | |||||||||||||||||||
development issues. | |||||||||||||||||||||
v) Eminent academicians from abroad (Indian and Foreign origin) working | |||||||||||||||||||||
on subjects relating to rural development issues can also apply. | |||||||||||||||||||||
ii) | Duration : The duration of the Fellowship shall be a minimum period of | ||||||||||||||||||||
three | months | and | a | maximum | period | upto | two | years. | The | tenure | of | ||||||||||
fellowship may be extended upto three years in exceptional cases subject | |||||||||||||||||||||
to maximum age limit of sixty five years. | |||||||||||||||||||||
iii) | Remuneration and other incentives : |
a) Fixed remuneration for Senior Fellow -Rs.1.25 lakhs per month
including all allowances.
b) If a person elected for the grant of Senior Fellowship is in Government service, he will be entitled to 30% as training allowance of the basic pay or equivalent.
iv) Age : Maximum 65 years.
- Job Description for Senior Fellow -Senior Fellow is to discharge the following functions : i) To conduct important research projects on subject of current interest and related to rural development ; ii) Utilize their experience on matters relating to policy formulation, programme implementation and policy options. iii) Provide their services as resources persons in training programmes organized by the Institute iv) Augment the quality of the functioning of the Institute and the content of its training courses iv) He/ She shall not engage himself in any other academic or research assignment in other organisations. v) Any other assignment given by the Director General.

Status and Responsibilities of Senior Fellowship
i) Senior Fellow shall not be treated as an employee of the Institute except for certain facilities and entitlements as may be specifically indicated in the terms and conditions notified in the Offer of Appointment. ii) He shall report directly to the Director General. iii) He shall submit periodical progress reports as prescribed by the Director General about the work done by him iv) He shall submit his final report before expiry of the Fellowship period. Publication of the report will be determined by the Director General and the published report shall be the property of the Institute. Rules of the Institute regarding publications shall apply mutatis-mutandis. v) He shall not engage himself in any other academic or research in other organizations and shall not accept any other assignment with or without payment during the period of Fellowship.
- General : i) Serving officers should forward their application through the cadre
- controlling authority. ii) Retired officers and other applicants not working in any organizations/ institutes may forward their applications directly. iii) Senior Fellow will be allotted appropriate quarter depending upon availability of the same. iv) Headquarters of the Senior Fellow shall be at Hyderabad.
- The candidates should apply through online registration available on the website www.nird.org.in. The last date for submitting applications online is 30.11.2018 till 05.30 pm.
