Job Description - Investment Associate

a-IDEA, The Technology Business Incubator of NAARM requires Investment Associate for managing the operations of seed fund & seed funded portfolio startups. This role will include preparatory work prior to startup investment- including board notes, conducting due-diligence, engaging with legal & financial counsel, portfolio monitoring and management, appraisal to the investment board on the portfolios performance. The duration of the contractual engagement is co-terminus with the project.

Qualification and Experience

Bachelors degree from a Premier Institute in Agriculture & allied sciences / Engineering/ Computer Science or Maths, with a post-graduation in M.B.A Finance/ Entrepreneurship/ Agribusiness. The candidates with 1 - 3 years of work experience in a related field, (e.g., angel funds/ early stage VC /management consulting/ banking/ investment banking). Previous investing experience preferred but not mandatory. The candidate should be a team player, with age not exceeding 32 years.

Job description:

Reporting to COO, the candidate is required to handle:

Analyzing and assessing new markets to help build new investment thesis for a-IDEA.

Conducting market research through interviews, conferences, and other sources for board notes preparation.

Supporting the investment process once the decision to invest has been made and conducting diligence through research, customer calls, investor calls, etc.

Interfacing with due diligence agencies- lawyers, CA, CS and other external entities as needed.

Post investment coordination, portfolio monitoring and management, appraisal to the board on portfolio performance.

Consolidated emoluments:

A consolidated remuneration of Rs. 35,000 to 42,000/- per month. Salary is negotiable in this range based on candidature, work experience & previous job credentials.
