VACANCY NOTICE No.1-18/Appt/Sc-B &C/RMRC/PB/110 Dated 28 /04/2017

Applications in the prescribed form are invited upto 7th July 2017 from Indian nationals for direct recruitment through written test & interview for filling up of the posts of Scientist C & B in Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Port Blair, as detailed below. Written test will be conducted for the short-listed candidates. Date and venue of the written test will be intimated in due course of time.

1. Name of the Post :SCIENTIST C (MEDICAL) Unreserved

   SALARY : PB-3 of Rs.15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay of Rs.6600

   QUALIFICATION& EXPERIENCE

   Essential

   1. MBBS Degree recognized by MCI.

   2. Four years research experience in relevant areas.

      Desirable:

      1. MD in Social and Preventive Medicine or related subjects

      2. Additional Post M.D research/teaching experience in relevant areas.

      3. Knowledge of Computer Applications

2. Name of the Post :SCIENTIST B (Microbiology) 02 Posts (01-OBC & 01-UNRESERVED)

   SALARY : PB-3 of Rs.15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400

   QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

   Essential:

   First class Masters Degree in Microbiology from a recognized University or First Class Masters Degree with Microbiology as one of the subjects from a recognized University, or

   Second class Masters Degree in Microbiology or Microbiology as one of the subject with PhD degree in Microbiology from a recognized University.

   Desirable:

   1. Ph.D degree in Microbiology from a recognized University.

   2. Three years research/teaching experience in related areas

   3. Knowledge of Computer Applications.

AGE LIMIT FOR THE ABOVE POSTS:

For Scientist- C not exceeding 40 years and for Scientist-B not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation will be allowed to Govt. servant, SC/ST and OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. One time age relaxation is allowed to Scientific and Technical Staff working in long term projects in ICMR Institutes/Centres for posts advertised under HRSC, 2007 provided they meet essential qualifications and experience for the post with a view to provide them an opportunity to compete with other candidates.

OTHER SERVICE CONDITIONS:

1. Allowances As admissible to Government Employees.
2. NPA Private practice is not allowed. However, Non-Practicing Allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.
3. Pension - Benefits of new restructured defined contributory pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division) Notification No.05/07/2003-ECB & PR dated 22-12-2003, effective from 01-01-2004.

   APPLICATION FEE:

   Rs. 500/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC & ST in the form of crossed demand draft of any nationalized Bank drawn in favour of Director, RMRC (ICMR), Port Blair payable at Port Blair. Candidates belonging to PwD category are exempted from payment of application fee.

   HOW TO APPLY:

   1. APPLICATION FORMS and other information can be downloaded from the Regional Medical Research Centre website (www.rmrc.res.in) or the ICMR Website (http://www.icmr.nic.in)

   2. Application forms duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent to the Director, Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Port Blair on or before the closing date (7th July upto 5.00 PM) along with application fee.

   3. Applications from employees working in Central/State Govt. Departments/Public Sector/Undertakings and Govt. funded research agencies must be forwarded through proper channel. Advance copies of application will be considered subject to the condition that a No Objection Certificate from the employer is produced at the time of personal discussion. Application received after the closing date will not be considered.

   4. Self attested copies of the following documents are to be enclosed with the application:

      1. Proof of Date of Birth

      2. Educational qualification

      3. Experience

      4. Community certificate

      5. List of publications in indexed/non-indexed journals with impact factor for each publication, Citation Index, research projects undertaken along with details of Investigator (PI or Co-PI) and funding agency.

   5. Unsigned/incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for or applications without application fee and applications received after the prescribed closing date are liable to be summarily rejected.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

1. Ph.D/MD in the relevant subject shall be treated as equivalent to 3 years experience.

2. Since it is not possible to call all the applicants for the written test/interview, the candidates will be short-listed for this purpose. The decision of the Director, RMRC (ICMR), Port Blair will be final in this regard.

3. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidate for appearing in the written test.

4. The candidates called for interview from outstation will be paid 2nd class rail fare through shortest route.

5. The candidates should be of sound health, Selected candidates will have to produce a fitness certificates from Medical Board.

6. Any dispute with regard to the recruitment against this advertisement will be under the jurisdiction of Port Blair.

7. Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be a disqualification.
