VACANCNCY FOR THE POST OF DIRECTOR

Ministry of Mines, Goovt. of India invites applicationss from Indian nationals for the post o of Director, JNARDDC.

The Institute : Jawaha arlal Nehru Aluminium Research De evelopment and Design Centre (JNARDD DC), Nagpur a Centre of Excellence for research in the field of bauxite, alumiina and aluminium. The Centre was seet up in 1989 as an Autonomous Body unnder the Ministry of Mines, Governm ment of India. It provides research and consultancy services broadly for Bayer process, conversion from bauxite to alumina, electrolytic smelting for cconversion from alumina to aluminium, , downstream processing, reductiion of energy consumption and enviroonmental sustenance by the effectivve utilization of residue materials such as red mud, dross & scrap etc. TThe Centre also provides analytical and teesting facilities to non-ferrous industriies, steel plants, small-scale industries, R&D Organizations and Academ mic Institutions particularly in the areas s of chemical and mineralogical annalysis, powder characterization, thermall mapping, micro structural studies, mmechanical and non destructive testing, f failure analysis and technical informat tion. The Centre follows central governme ent rules as amended from time to time e.

The Job Profile :The D Director is the Chief Executive Offic cer. He shall be responsible for the overa all functioning of the Institute and the e planning for its future course of action. HHe is expected to undertake necess ary initiatives to take the Institute on a groowth path to greater heights and thus s ensure fulfilling the objectives of the Instittute.

The Candidate :The can ndidate should be a dynamic and comppetent scientist / engineer/ technologist wiith outstanding contribution in the are ea of aluminium. Being a Centre of excelle ence, the candidates must have prove ed administrative and research backgroundds with leadership qualities to head thhe Institute. The eligibility requirements ar re as follows:

A) Essential :-

Degree in Metallurgical Engineering / Chemical Engineering of a recognized university.

B) Experience :

a.

At least 20 years of professional experience of which 10 years should be in a leadership role in a research / academic institution / consulting organization or aluminum industry, with experience in guiding and training research and / or design works.

b.

A distinguished Scientist with demonstrable ability to manage multidisciplinary R&D teams and capacity to build a conducive environment for nurturing high research, consultancy and development and other S&T activities.

C) Desirable :

Knowledge of alumina / aluminium technology including downstream processing and waste utilization.

Pay Scale: PB4 (Rs. 37,400-67,000) Grade Pay Rs. 10,000 [as per recruitment rules which corresponds to Level-14 (Rs.1,44,200-2,18,200) in the pay matrix as per 7th CPC ]

Age : Not exceeding 55 years

Age, qualification and experience may be relaxed by the Search-cum-Selection Committee in case of candidates found otherwise deserving and competent.

Terms of appointment :The offer of appointment shall be for a period of five years or till the age of 60 years whichever is earlier. In deserving cases, the tenure period can be extended by another term upto five years or till the age of 60 years whichever is earlier. The appointee will be on probation for a period of one year.

Selection Procedure :The selection of the Director will be done by the Search-cum-Selection Committee. Candidates called for the interview will be reimbursed AC-2 Rail Fare by the shortest route.

The Package :Besides salary, the other benefits include PF, medical reimbursement, leave encashment, gratuity, LTC, CEA and other allowances as per Central Govt. rules as applicable to JNARDDC from time to time.

Persons employed in Central / State Government / PSUs / Universities / Autonomous bodies should forward their applications through proper channel. Advance application may be sent but No Objection Certificate should be produced at the time of interview.

The last date for receipt of applications is 15^th Dec 2018. Applications received after the due date will not be considered and no communication thereof will be entertained.
