Applications are invited for the following posts, to be filled purely on temporary basis at ICMR Hqrs. Office, New Delhi under the project entitled ICMR Computational Genomics Centre at Informatics, System and Research Management (ISRM), ICMR HQRS, New Delhi-110029.

The Terms & Conditions for the post are as follows:

a) Scientist-I - Unreserved (2 posts) (Rs.48,000/- pm + HRA)

b) Computer Programmer - One each SC, ST (2 posts) (Rs.32,500/- pm)

c) Attendant - Unreserved (1 post) (Rs.15,800/- pm)

1. The post is to be filled up on purely temporary basis and will be initially for a period of one year.

2. The appointment can be terminated with one month notice from either side without assigning any reason.

3. Since, the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.

4. Benefits of Provident fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim etc. are not applicable.

5. Age relaxation is for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. Rules. No Age relaxation against the Unreserved vacancies as per Govt. of India order No.36011/1/98/Estt(Res) dated 1/7/1998.

6. No TA/DA etc. will be given to attend the Interview or joining of post and candidate should make his/her own arrangement for stay for interview and joining of post.

7. Qualification and experience should be from a reputed organization.

8. Experience will be counted only after completion of minimum educational qualification.

9. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee for the interview call and selection.

10. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

11. Persons already in regular time scale service under any government Department/ Organizations are not eligible to apply.

12. Consolidated salary of each post may be revised as per ICMR instructions.

13. Separate application should be submitted for each post.

14. PhD or MD degree in subjects relevant to Indian Council of Medical Research shall be treated equivalent to three years of experience respectively.

Application must be submitted by 31st October, 2018 upto 1700 hrs. Submitted applications will be screened as per Essential qualification & Desirable qualification and shortlisted candidates will be invited through email/mobile for a written examination based on merit in the written examination, 10 candidates will be invited for interview at ICMR Hqrs. The date and time of interview will be intimated through email/website.

The selected candidates will work in the project mentioned above and on any other work that may be assigned by the Principal Investigator from time to time.

DETAILS OF POSITIONS

Scientist I (Statistics One post)

Essential Qualification:

1st class M.A/M.Sc. (Mathematical Statistics/Biostatistics or related Discipline) with 2yrs experience.

OR

2nd Class M.A/M.Sc. (Mathematical Statistics/Biostatistics or related Discipline) + PhD in Statistics or related Discipline with 1 year experience in relevant subject.

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation is for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. Rules. No Age relaxation against the Unreserved vacancies as per Govt. of India order No.36011/1/98/Estt(Res) dated 1/7/1998.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Doctorate in Statistics or relevant subject from a recognized University.

2. Additional Post-Doctoral research/2YRS teaching experience in Statistics in recognized institute(s) AFTER OBTAINING ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION.

3. Strong Knowledge of use of Statistics tools.

4. Strong Knowledge of Statistical analysis on R.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Work on research projects available with the centre.

2. Providing data management and analysis services requested by the users of the Centre

3. Work on collaborative research projects initiated by the Exploratory Team

4. Providing technical support to the Exploratory Team (if required)

5. Providing consultancy/assistance to medical research groups on using genomics tools and techniques for their research.

NOTE: PhD in relevant subject shall be treated equivalent to three years of experience. Candidates with PhD degree will be preferred.

Salary: Consolidate Salary of Rs.48,000/-p.m. + HRA as per rules

Scientist I (Bioinformatics or related subject One Post)

Essential Qualification:

1st class M.Sc. (Bioinformatics or related) with 2 years experience.

OR

2nd Class M.Sc. + PhD in Bioinformatics or related Discipline with 1 year relevant experience

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation is for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. Rules. No Age relaxation against the Unreserved vacancies as per Govt. of India order No. 36011/1/98/Estt(Res) dated 1/7/1998.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Experience in handling and analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing data.

2. Experience in scripting language (PERL/PYTHON etc).

3. Experience in conceptualizing and executing collaborative/independent research projects.

4. Doctorate or M.Tech Degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or relevant subject from a recognized University.

5. Additional Post-Doctoral research/teaching experience in Computer Science in recognized institute(s).

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Work on research projects available with the Centre.

2. Providing consultancy/assistance to medical research groups on using genomics tools and techniques for their research.

3. Increase awareness of latest Genomics techniques through lectures, small workshops and other media such as emails, participating in medical society meetings, CMEs, blogs, notice boards etc.

4. Outreach Centres activities through advertisements at various forums

5. Initiate collaborative research projects with medical researchers.

6. Help medical researchers in preparing service requests for availing services of the Centre.

7. Providing data management and analysis services requested by the users of the Centre

8. Work on collaborative research projects initiated by the Exploratory Team

9. Providing technical support to the Exploratory Team (if required)

Computer Programmer-Grade-B (Two Posts)

Essential Qualification:

Masters degree in Computer Application/Information Technology/Computer Science from recognized institution/university.

OR

B.E./B Tech in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Technology/ Information/Information Technology from a recognized institution with 2 years of experience in relevant areas of programming or information system in Government/autonomous PSU etc. recognized institutes/organization.

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 35 years. Age relaxation is for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. Rules. No Age relaxation against the Unreserved vacancies as per Govt. of India order No. 36011/1/98/Estt(Res) dated 1/7/1998.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Doctorate or M.Tech Degree in Computer Science or relevant subject from a recognized University.

2. Additional Post-Doctoral research/teaching experience in Computer Science in recognized institute(s).

3. Strong Knowledge of C++/JAVA and PHP and web development.

4. Strong Knowledge of working and development in LINUX environment

5. Knowledge of MySQL

Duties/Responsibilities:

Developing programs, web interfaces and databases for intramural as well as extramural Activities/projects of Bioinformatics Centre.

Salary: Consolidate Salary of Rs.32,500/- per month.

Attendant (One Post)

Essential Qualification:

Matriculation from a recognized board.

Age Limit:

Not exceeding 25 years. Age relaxation is for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per Govt. Rules. No Age relaxation against the Unreserved vacancies as per Govt. of India order No. 36011/1/98/Estt(Res) dated 1/7/1998.

Desirable Qualifications:

1) Able to read and write Hindi and English.

2) Knowledge of Computers.

3) File sorting and management.

4) Energetic and enthusiastic personality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist (such as file management, storing and retrieving, movement, photocopying, paper communication etc.) in various intramural and extramural activities/projects of Genomic Centre.

Salary: Consolidate Salary of Rs.15,800/- per month.
