(SCI), which is Government of India Navaratna Enterprise. At MTI, we invite applications empanelment of faculties and instructors on full time contract basis and visiting basis (visiting means as and when required) for the Nautical subjects/courses, Marine Engineering subjects/courses and Medical subjects/courses. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT: Selection will be on full time contract basis and Visiting basis (as and when required). The period of full time contract will be one year, extendable by one more year on sole discretion of SCI. The period of empanelment of faculty and instructors on visiting basis will be for 2 years only. QUALIFICATION / EMOLUMENTS: Qualification of the faculties and Instructors will be same irrespective of their empanelment type i.e. full time contract or visiting basis.

2	Marine Engineering Faculty: Holding COC of Marine Engineer Officer Class I (Unlimited Horse Power) of a Foreign Going Ship by D.G. Shipping.	Must have sailing experience on merchant ships as Engineer officer for a total of 7 Years or more.
3	Nautical Instructors: Deck Engine Petty Officer OR from Ex Indian Navy Seaman Branch.	Must have sailing experience of Deck Petty officer on Merchant Ships OR must have sailing experience or served on the Naval ships.
4	Engineering Instructor: Engine Petty Officer OR from Ex Indian Navy Engineering Branch.	Must have sailing experience as an Engine Petty Officer on Merchant Ships or must have sailing experience or served on the Naval ships.
5	Academic Faculty: (Subject: Physics, Maths, Electronics & English) Masters Degree in respective branch or B.Tech (Electronics).	Must have teaching experience of 3 years or more as a Lecturer or Professor in respective subjects.
6	Electrical Officer / Faculty: B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical) and ETO Certificate holder.	Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in GME/ETO courses at any DGS approved Maritime Training Institute.
6	Medical Faculty: MBBS Medical Practitioner	Preference will be given to candidates with teaching / training experience, especially at Maritime Training Institutes.
7	Nurse (Male / Female): Qualified paramedic or qualified nurse	Preference will be given to candidates with teaching / training experience, especially at Maritime Training Institutes.
8	GMDSS Faculty: Holding COP Second Class / General Class of Radio Officer issued by Ministry of Communications, New Delhi. Holding valid GMDSS GOC Certificate (Indian) issued by Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, New Delhi / Mumbai.	Must have sailing experience on merchant ships for 5 years or more as a Radio officer.
9	Workshop Instructors: Instructors for skills such as Carpentry, Plumbing, machining and Electrical repairs to possess trade certificates from ITI or equivalent acceptable to DG Shipping.	Instructors in employment / contract / empanelment at DGS approved Pre-sea training Institutes for 3 years or more are exempted from the requirement of trade certificates.

*Experience requirement to be met as on 01.04.2018. **Preference will be given to applicants for faculties below 55 years of age, and with teaching experience in similar maritime training institutes.

*** Applicants should posses D.G. approved certificate of Training for Trainers and Assessors (TOTA) / Training for Trainers and Instructors (TOTI). If not attended and obtained TOTA / TOTI Certificate, same to be obtained within 6 months from joining MTI at applicant's own cost and time from any D.G. approved Institute. AGE: The age of the applicant for the post of faculty should not be more than 65years as on 1st April 2018 as per DGS Guidelines. Should be physically fit for carrying out the duties as required. Age of the applicant for the post of Instructor should not be more than 60 years as on 1st April 2018. Should be physically fit for carrying out the duties as required. EMOLUMENTS Remuneration for Full time contract faculty will be Rs.1,25,000/- per month (TDS as per Income Tax Dept. guidelines). Remuneration for Full time contract Instructor will be Rs.40,000/- per month (TDS as per Income Tax Dept. guidelines). Honorarium paid to visiting faculty will be Rs. 1000/- per hour and conveyance of Rs. 300/- per day to Master Mariners / Chief Engineers for all courses (except few STCW courses, for which hourly rate would be Rs. 800/- per hour and conveyance of Rs. 300/- per day). For faculty other than Master Mariner / Chief Engineer, the honorarium will be paid at Rs. 700/- per hour and conveyance of Rs. 300/- per day. Honorarium paid to visiting instructor / nurse will be Rs. 1000/- per day and conveyance of Rs. 250/- per day. OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Working hours and other terms & conditions of the empanelment (for both full time contract and visiting basis) will be laid out in the Empanelment Letter / Offer letter extended to the selected applicants. SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of work will include academic and non-academic activities at SCI-MTI. Reporting and other details shall be elaborately laid out in the Empanelment Letter / Offer Letter, if selected.
