Ref: HBC/EST/PSA-B/1407 October 04, 2018 Notice No: 12/18 Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, (TIFR), Mumbai hereby invites applicants for Walk-in-Interview for two positions of Project Scientific Assistant- B in the Chemistry Cell and Vigyan Pratibha Project at HBCSE. PROJECT SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT- B (PSA-B): 2 positions (UR) Areas of work:

1. Chemistry Education Cell The cell works in the field of chemistry education at school and undergraduate level and training of students for International Chemistry Olympiad.

2. Vigyan Pratibha The project aims at nurturing scientific and mathematics aptitude among school students of Class 8-10.

Position I: Chemistry Education Cell Job Description: Cells activities involve chemistry education research, professional development programs for teachers, development of educational material, and enrichment programs for students. The candidate will assist in development and standardization of challenging experiments in laboratory, reviewing scientific literature, and data analysis.The person will also be involved in educational material development for print and web form, and is expected to contribute to students and teacherscamps in different capacities. Qualification & Experience: The candidates should have a B.Sc. Degree in chemistry with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA and one year experience in similar capacity in the field of chemistry. Or B.Sc. Degree in chemistry with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA and M.Sc. Degree in Chemistry. Note: Candidates with degrees in Applied Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry will also be considered. Desirable: Proficiency in English and a regional language with good reading and writing skills. Experience in preparing technical reports and material in print and web form. The candidate should have proficiency in computer skills and documentation and should be able to work independently in a chemistry laboratory. Position II: Vigyan Pratibha Job Description: The work requires strong academic competence, ability to interact with teachers and students in schools (urban, rural, and tribal), and sensitivity towards learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds in the country. The candidate is expected to assist in development and standardization of innovative educational material through literature study, school visits and laboratory experimentation. The person is also expected to provide academic support to teachers via school visits including to schools outside Mumbai and social media. Qualification and Experience: The candidates should have a B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Environmental Science/ Geography/ Geology with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA and one year experience in similar capacity in the relevant field. Or The candidates should have a B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry/ Industrial Chemistry/ Environmental Science/ Geography/ Geology with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA and M.Sc. Degree in any of these disciplines.

Desirable: Proficiency in English and a regional language with good reading and writing skills. The candidate should have proficiency in computer skills, documentation, and social media. The candidate should be able to work independently, should be willing to travel to even remote areas of the country and contribute to teachers and students camps in different capacities. Experience in the field of preparation of technical reports and material in print and web form. The position is purely temporary, for one year in the first instance and extendable by one or two more years based on the performance of the candidate. A consolidated monthly honorarium of Rs. 44,000/- (inclusive of HRA Rs. 7,600/-) will be paid. Age: Below 28 years. Note: Project Scientific Assistant- B will not be entitled for Institute provided accommodation.
