Advt No.21/2018 : Appointment of a Website Coordinator with India Bioscience

National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), a premier research Centre is looking for appointment of a Website Coordinator with India Bioscience on contract basis. Selected candidates shall be offered a consolidated pay based on their qualification and experience.

Profile:

Operating under the broad guidance of the Associate Director, the web coordinator will be responsible for all technical aspects and activities related to the IndiaBioscience website. The IndiaBioscience website is a one-stop online portal for showcasing research in the Life Sciences in India. It has also been a nodal point for collecting and communicating resources for funding, mentoring, networking and careers in science. IndiaBioscience operates largely through a web presence and a key part of this job profile includes promoting and increasing the growth of the overall network across India and abroad, both through the website and other means.

DETAILED PROFILE:

• Liasioning with website developer(s) to discuss, analyze, or resolve usability issues; For additional features and upgradation of the website; for maintenance of current and upcoming websites, web portals and web services
• Website administration tasks askeeping track and record of website updates, software licenses and payments to allweb services providers, etc
• Track, compile, and analyze web site usage/ trafficdata and provide data as and when required. Document application and web site changes or change procedures; Database management
• Ensuring all IBS data is backed-up on the server and create a reference sheet for anyone interested in accessing this data or adding to it
• Familiarity to use a wide range of social media communication platforms for outreach and networking.
• Actively participate in initiation and execution of all website based activities such as discussions on website or webinars that may include moderating discussions or taking interviews.
• Actively participate in all IndiaBioscience activities, and be involved in improvement initiatives

Essential Qualification and Expereince:

• MSc / MTech in (Life Sciences/Computer Science respectively) with minimum 60%
• Basic familiarity with craft CMS
• Experience of handling website and understanding of CRAFT
• Good oral and written skills

Desirable Qualification: PhD degree; Basic understanding of Life sciences

Tenure of the appointment:

Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Salary will not be a constraint for the right candidate with experience and qualifications.
