Associate Professor	Eligibility: i). PhD* in advertised discipline from an institution of high repute. ii). First class UG & PG degree in advertised discipline. iii). A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching plus research as Assistant Professor in a reputed academic institution. After becoming Assistant Professor following minimum performance shall be required: iv). A minimum of 12 publications in SCI/SCIE/SSCI/AHCI indexed journals. v). (a) Completed at least two sponsored R&D /industrial consultancy project of value Rs. 30 lakhs or more as PI. (b) For faculty members of Architecture/HMCT/Management, cumulative earning worth Rs. 10 lakhs or more from at least two Training Activities/Consultancy /FDP/EDP etc. may also be admissible. vi). After becoming Assistant Professor following minimum performance shall be required:

iv). A minimum of 12 publications in SCI/SCIE/SSCI/AHCI indexed journals.
v). (a) Completed at least two sponsored R&D /industrial consultancy project of value Rs. 30 lakhs or more as PI.

(b) For faculty members of Architecture/HMCT/Management, cumulative earning worth Rs. 10 lakhs or more from at least two Training Activities/Consultancy /FDP/EDP etc. may also be admissible.

vi). Guided at least one PhD independently.
vii). A total research score of eighty (80) as per the criteria given in Appendix I, Table 1.
viii). Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and sponsored R&D /industrial consultancy activities.

Professor	Eligibility: i). PhD* in advertised discipline from an institution of high repute. ii). First class UG & PG degree in advertised discipline. iii). A minimum of 10 years of experience of teaching and research experience in University/National level Institutions of which at least 3 years as an Associate Professor. iv). Sustained and proven excellence in teaching, research and sponsored R&D /industrial consultancy activities. After becoming Associate Professor following minimum performance criteria shall apply: v). A minimum of 90 Research Score as per Appendix I, Table 1 vi). A minimum of 6 publications in SCI/SCIE/SSCI/AHCI indexed journals with high impact as sole / corresponding author. vii). Guided at least one PhD student independently. viii). Completed at least one sponsored R&D Project/ Industrial Consultancy of value Rs. 20 lakhs or more as PI. ix). For faculty members of Architecture/ HMCT/Management, earning worth Rs. 5 lakhs or more from at least two Training Activities/ Consultancy /FDP /EDP etc. may also be admissible. x). Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process. Eligibility:

i). An eminent scholar with sustained and proven excellence in teaching, research and sponsored R&D activities/ industrial consultancies.
ii). Served a minimum of ten years as a Professor.
iii). Guided at least 4 PhD independently after becoming professor.
iv). A minimum of 20 publications in SCI/SCIE/SSCI/AHCI indexed journals after becoming Professor out of which at least ten research papers shall be

	published either as solitary author or coauthored only with their own current students (UG/PG/PhD/research associate in their own project). v). Obtained at least two sponsored R&D projects of total worth Rs. 30 lakhs independently after becoming Professor. vi). For faculty members of Architecture/HMCT/Management, earning worth Rs. 15 lakhs or more from at least two Training Activities/Consultancy /FDP/ EDP etc. may also be admissible. Note: Exceptionally qualified candidate(s) not fulfilling some criterion above may also apply. However, the decision of Birla Institute of Technology shall be final. B.M. Birla Distinguished Research Professor	Eligibility: Over and above the eligibility criteria applicable for Senior Professor as given above, the following additional performance requirements shall be applicable: i). An eminent scholar with high quality publications in high impact journals, significant research contribution to the discipline and proven record of excellence in research supervision. ii). A minimum of five years of teaching/ research experience as HAG/Senior Professor or an equivalent grade in the IIT/IISc/University/other top 25 NIRF ranked institutes. iii). Sustained and proven excellence in teaching, research and demonstrated capability of attracting Sponsored R&D Projects / industrial consultancies as Principal Investigator. iv). Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process. v). Preference shall be given to FNAE, FNA, FNASc, FASc. vi). Selection shall be based on academic achievements, favorable review from three eminent subject experts who are not less than the rank of Senior Professor or a Professor of at least ten years experience. Those who have superannuated from older IITs and are below the age of 67 are encouraged to apply. The appointment shall be initially for a period of one year and subsequently may be renewed till the age of 70.

B.M. Birla Distinguished Research Professor

Eligibility:

Over and above the eligibility criteria applicable for Senior Professor as given above, the following additional performance requirements shall be applicable:

i). An eminent scholar with high quality publications in high impact journals, significant research contribution to the discipline and proven record of excellence in research supervision.
ii). A minimum of five years of teaching/ research experience as HAG/Senior Professor or an equivalent grade in the IIT/IISc/University/other top 25 NIRF ranked institutes.
iii). Sustained and proven excellence in teaching, research and demonstrated capability of attracting Sponsored R&D Projects / industrial consultancies as Principal Investigator.
iv). Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process.
v). Preference shall be given to FNAE, FNA, FNASc, FASc.
vi). Selection shall be based on academic achievements, favorable review from three eminent subject experts who are not less than the rank of Senior Professor or a Professor of at least ten years experience.

Those who have superannuated from older IITs and are below the age of 67 are encouraged to apply. The appointment shall be initially for a period of one year and subsequently may be renewed till the age of 70.

	Compensation of B.M. Birla Distinguished Research Professor: (i) For HAG /Senior Professors in Service: The appointment shall be contractual in nature. Additional honorarium of Rs 1,00,000/ PM in addition to the basic Pay + DA shall be admissible. (ii) Superannuated HAG /Senior Professors: Consolidated salary of Rs 1,50,000/ PM. Note: A contingency support of Rs 1.0 lakh for academic activities shall also be admissible each year to B.M.Birla Distinguished Research Professor.

Compensation of B.M. Birla Distinguished Research Professor:

(i) For HAG /Senior Professors in Service: The appointment shall be contractual in nature. Additional honorarium of Rs 1,00,000/ PM in addition to the basic Pay + DA shall be admissible.
(ii) Superannuated HAG /Senior Professors: Consolidated salary of Rs 1,50,000/ PM.

Information / Instruction:

1. Before applying, an applicant should read the complete advertisement carefully and ensure that he/she fulfills the minimum eligibility criteria of the post stated in the advertisement in all respects as on the last date for receipt of applications i.e., 22 October 2018.

4. If Class or Division is not declared at the Bachelors or Masters Degree levels, an aggregate of minimum 60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is to be considered as equivalent to First Class.
5. In respect of CGPA awarded to the applicants on a Ten-Point Scale, the applicant should provide the Table of equivalence by the university concerned for determining the Class obtained as per (3) cited above.
6. The applicants who have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree must ensure that the awarded degree is in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendment from time to time
7. Applicants are required to submit Research Score (RS) in the prescribed proforma (Table- 1).
8. The Application form in prescribed format must be accompanied with passport size photograph of applicant, self-attested copies of certificates, marks sheets, experience, research experience, publication(s) etc.
9. Separate confidential letters of recommendation are required to be sent by three referees, who are aware of academic and research credentials of the applicant. Applicant should request the referees to send the reference letters directly to the Dean (Faculty Affairs) by email to dean.fasr@bitmesra.ac.in .
10. Applicants will be interviewed only after scrutiny of relevant documents. Eligibility of an applicant with regard to qualification and experience shall be calculated/ considered with reference to the last date of the receipt for application.

11. The Institute reserves the right to screen and call only such applicants as are found prima-facie suitable for being considered by the Screening Committee. Thus, merely fulfilling the prescribed conditions will not automatically entitle one to be called for interview.
12. The Institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy of this advertisement, if found later on. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of letter of appointment, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate in this regard.

2. The Non-refundable Demand draft, towards application fee, shall be drawn in favour of Birla Institute of Technology payable at Ranchi. The amount of DD shall be Rs. 750/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PHs and Rs. 1500/- for candidates belonging to other categories. Candidates are advised to write their name, own phone number and post applied for on the backside of the demand draft.
3. Separate confidential letters of recommendation by three referees should be submitted by e-mail to dean.fasr@bitmesra.ac.in .

4. Without submission of the documents mentioned above, the application shall not be considered.
