Applications on plain paper are invited from eligible candidates for one position of Research Assistant on contractual basis on a consolidated fellowship/stipend of Rs.38,000/-per month for a period of one year for the project Indo-Dutch Encounters: Research on Visual Stories on Rare Indian Kalamkaris under the Department of Museology.

Essential Qualification:

(i)

Candidates should have Masters in Museology / Conservation / History of Art / Masters in Textile studies or related discipline with 55 % marks.

(ii)

Good working knowledge of computer.

Experience: Working experience with one to two years of research / projects related to Museology / Textile Research.

Age limit: Not to exceed 40 years on the last date of receipt of application. Relaxation in age for deserving candidates, if any, shall be at the sole discretion of the competent authority of NMI.

Note: It is amply clarified that the above engagement will be purely casual / contractual initially for a period of one-year extendable maximum upto the completion of the Project under Department of Museology or subject to performance of the selected candidate as the case may be. Under no circumstances, the selected Research Assistant will be considered as Institutes employee or claim for regularization in future will be entertained as the contractual arrangement is meant for the Project under Department of Museology only.
