QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE ETC.
CANDIDATES MAY NOTE THAT THE QUALIFICATIONS AS PRESCRIBED BY THE UGC AND OTHER GOVERNING BODIES FROM TIME TO TIME IS APPLICABLE. THEY ARE ADVISED TO VISIT UGC WEBSITE (www.ugc.ac.in) FOR LATEST REVISIONS /
CHANGES IN THE SAME WHICH WILL BE APPLICABLE AT THE TIME OF INTERVIEW. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: (All subjects except Management and Education)
- (i) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- (ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
- (iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) above, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in University.
- (iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
- (v) The candidates applying for Assistant Professor in Computer Science shall posses qualification as per UGC/AICTE norms.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN MANAGEMENT STUDIES
- 1. First Class Masters Degree in Business Management / Administration / in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU / accredited by the AICTE / UGC;
OR
- 2. First Class graduate and professionally qualified Charted Accountant / Cost
and Works Accountant / Company Secretary of the concerned statutory bodies. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN EDUCATION
- A) A Masters Degree in Arts / Humanities / Sciences / Commerce and M. Ed. each with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), OR M. A. (Education) and B. Ed. each with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed); and
- B) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
- C) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (a) and (b) above, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or fulfilling the conditions as laid down by the University (Annexure-IV) may be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in the University.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION
- A) Masters Degree in Physical Education with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed);
- B) The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
- C) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (a) and (b) above, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or fulfilling the conditions as laid down by the University (Annexure-IV) may be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in the University.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN BIO-INFORMATICS: Good academic records with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade of B in the 7 points scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E and F at the masters degree in statistics form an Indian University, OR an equivalent degree from a foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above qualification candidates should have cleared the eligibility test (NET) for lectures conducted by the UGC, CSIR OR similar test accredited by the UGC. Desirable: Experience in information technology. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN FOOD PROCESSING AND NUTRITION: Good academic records with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade of B in the 7 points scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at the masters degree level. In the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

GENERAL INFORMATION
- 1. The University is looking for qualified, accomplished and committed faculty members who believe in institution-building and have a passion for academic excellence through teaching and quality research. Applications in the prescribed online format are invited from eligible and suitable Indian Nationals for filling-up of teaching positions at the level of Assistant Professors in various disciplines on regular basis. The Last Date for Online Submission of Applications complete in all respects is 26-2-2018 at 5.30pm and last date of receipt of a hard copy and Online Application is on 05-03-2018 at 5.30pm. University will be not responsible for any postal delay or any other reason. The candidates shall submit 8 sets of application along with all attachments at the time of interview.
- 2. The qualifications, Pay Scales and other conditions for the advertised teaching positions shall be in accordance with UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010 (hereinafter referred to as UGC Regulations 2010) and its subsequent amendments issued on time to time published in the Gazette of India, and are subject to any future regulations/norms, including amendments in the present regulations stipulated by the MHRD/UGC applicable to such recruitments, which may change from time to time. The application form must be accompanied by additional sheets (wherever required) and enclosures giving details of academic qualifications, experience, published work etc.
- 3. Reservation for SCs/STs, OBCs and PWDs for all posts exists as per the guidelines of the UGC/ GoI and GoK. Candidates applying for the reserved posts should clearly state to which category they belong to. They must also enclose attested Photostat copy of Caste Certificate/ Medical Certificate from the concerned competent authorities. The caste certificate to be produced by other backward class candidates must be as prescribed by the Govt. of Karnataka.
- 4. A relaxation of 5% (i.e., from 60% to 55% for Management discipline and 55% to 50% for rest of the disciplines) shall be provided at the Masters level for the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Persons with Disability (PWD) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
- 5. NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in the University.
Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 and its further amendments, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in the University. Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to 11 July 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in the University subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
- a. Ph.D. Degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode only;
- b. Evaluation of the Ph.D. Thesis by at least two external examiners;
- c. Open Ph.D. Viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
- d. Candidate has published two research papers from/based on his/her Ph.D. Work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal:
- e. Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/ seminars, based on his/her Ph.D work.
- (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Registrar/Registrar (Evaluation)/Controller of Examination of the concerned University/Degree awarding institution.
- 6. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized university shall also be considered eligible. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to provide equivalence certificate for grade achieved (in terms of %) issued by the concerned degree awarding University. In the absence of such a certificate, the verification shall not be considered for appointment to the post applied for.
- 7. The candidates selected shall be appointed under a written contract as per UGC norms.
- 8. The appointment of candidates on regular basis shall be governed by New Pension Scheme (NPS)
- 9. Call letters and other correspondence for attending the interview, etc., will be sent only to the eligible candidates by Email only.
- 10. Only matriculation/SSLC certificate/Admit card/passing certificate issued by the concerned education board will be considered as proof of date of birth. No other document will be accepted for verification of date of birth.
- 11. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC and Persons with Disabilities will be as per Government of India norms as amended from time to time. Candidates
- applying for the reserved posts should clearly state to which category they belong. They must also enclose a Certificate issued by Tahsildar/Mandal Revenue Officer/Equivalent authority as proof to this effect, without which the application will not be considered. Candidates applying for the post(s) reserved for OBC, should submit an self-attested copy of valid caste certificate specifically mentioning Creamy Layer-exclusion in the format prescribed by Govt. of India/Govt. of Karnataka (which should not be more than 6 months old from the last date of submission of application), issued by competent authority.
- 12. The list of short-listed candidates for Interview and details of Written Examination/Interview will be published on the University Website i.e., www.kswu.ac.in. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the University website for getting the information about progress in scrutiny work/result, important dates of written/ trade/ proficiency test/ interview (if any). Any excuse / complaint for not visiting the University website shall not be entertained.
- 13. Candidates must write their Email ID neatly and correctly for mailing written examination/ interview/appointment letter as attachment. The e-mail date will be considered as the official date of dispatch and receipt of communication. Candidates not having an e-mail-ID must create an ID and check it regularly for further communication.
- 14. The candidates selected for appointment are expected to join at the EARLIEST POSSIBLE not later than Fifteen Days.
- 15. Separate applications need to be submitted Candidates applying for various UR/Reserved categories i.e. UR/SC/ST/OBC/PWD as per the vacancy advertised for a particular post must specifically opt for the same in the online application. a reserved candidate if clamming under General Category need to apply separately with prescribed fees.
- 16. The eligibility of candidates will be determined as on the last date fixed for submission of online application 26-2-2018.
- 17. Before applying for a post, candidates are advised to satisfy themselves about their eligibility as per UGC/AICTE/NCTE norms. No enquiry in this regard will be entertained.
- 18. The service conditions including pay band and age of superannuation shall be as per guidelines issued by GoK.
- 19. Candidates who desire to apply for more than one post will be required to submit separate applications on the prescribed format along with all the specified supporting documents and application fee along with each application.
- 20. Candidates applying for the same post for different categories shall apply with different registered email id and with prescribed fee.
- 21. Teachers appointed may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching and research as per the need.
- 22. Every person appointed permanently to a post in the University by direct recruitment, shall be on probation in such post for a period of one year in the first instance, provided that the appointing authority may, in any individual case, extend the period of probation to such extent as it may deem necessary, the reasons thereof to be recorded in writing.
- 23. Where a person has not completed his/her period of probation satisfactorily, the appointing authority may terminate his/her services under the University without notice and assigning any reason thereof.
- 24. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted at any time at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted are fake or the candidate has clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be terminated forthwith.
- 25. The applicants serving in Government/Semi-Government organizations/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies must submit NOC from their employer.
- 26. Candidates shall have to produce original documents at the time of Written Examination/Interview along with authentic Photo ID.
- 27. Canvassing in any form may lead to cancellation of candidature.
- 28. Incomplete online application and subsequent submission of hard copy of application without relevant supporting enclosures (self-attested copies of degree/certificates/marks sheets/experience certificate, etc.) will be out-rightly rejected. Consequent upon adoption of self-certification provisions as required by the Govt. of India, the University shall process the applications entirely on the basis of information/documents submitted by the candidates. In case the information/documents are found to be false/incorrect by way of omission or commission, the responsibility and liability shall lie solely with the candidate.
- 29. Information uploaded on the University Website shall not be provided to the candidate under RTI Act, 2005. The uploaded information on the University Website shall remain for a specific period only. Therefore, the candidates are advised to download the information and keep them for future reference. In due course of recruitment examination, in midway of process neither any application under Right to Information Act, 2005 shall be entertained nor shall information be provided. Factual information under RTI Act shall be provided only after declaration of final result. Reply of inferential (speculative) question shall not be provided.
- 30. Though the selected employees headquarters will be Vijayapura, he/she will be liable to serve anywhere in Karnataka.
- 31. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor, Akkamahadevi Womens University, Vijayapura in all matter relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of examination/ interview will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/ her agency.
- 32. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment order, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidates.
- 33. Corrigendum or Addendum or Cancellation to this advertisement, if any, shall be published only on the University Website www.kswu.ac.in and will not be published in the newspapers. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the University Website regularly.
- 34. Fake/derecognised Institutions: Candidates, who have obtained degrees or diplomas or certificates for various courses from any Institution declared fake/derecognised by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi shall not be eligible for being considered for recruitment to the posts advertised.
- 35. The posts are being advertised keeping in view the broad areas of specialization in subjects. However, the Department concerned may have specific requirement of specialization.
- 36. The applications received shall be screened as per screening guidelines attached with the advertisement for recommending the applicants to be called for interview.
- 37. Publications under submission or submitted to referees will not be considered towards calculation of points for publication criteria. Further, all the items for which points are claimed should be strictly in accordance with the screening guidelines attached with the advertisement.
- 38. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
- 39. The panel of selected waitlisted candidates will be valid for one year from the date of approval of competent authority and University shall make appointments on consequential/ new vacancies.
- 40. The character of a person for direct recruitment to the service must be such as to render him/her suitable in all respect for appointment to the service. Persons dismissed by the Union Government or by a State Government or by a Local Authority or a Government Corporation owned or controlled by the Central Government or State Government will be deemed to be ineligible for appointment.
- 41. No person shall be recruited unless he/she is in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his official duties. Before a candidate recruited
- directly is finally approved for appointment to the establishment he shall be required to produce a medical certificate of physical fitness from whom the appointing authority specifies.
- 42. Equivalence certificates for degrees awarded from recognized foreign Universities as per AIU may be submitted in relevant cases.
- 43. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her for being called for interview.
- 44. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates previous record (including the requirement of API scores as envisaged in the UGC-Regulations dated 11.07.2016) and Govt of Karnataka Circular NO: ED/136UNE, dated 17.07.2017) and their performance in the interview. The University may utilize seminar or colloquium as an additional method of selection.
- 45. API Score will be calculated as per 2016 Notification of UGC and to be computed only on the publication approved by the UGC in its notification dated 23.03.2017 and subsequent notification from time to time.
- 46. The API Score calculated in the online form is only indicative of the applicants eligibility and it shall be confirmed following due scrutiny by the appropriate committee constituted by the University as per UGC 2016 norms.
- 47. In case of any disputes/suites or legal proceedings against the University, the Jurisdiction shall be restricted to the Courts in Vijayapura, which is the Head quarter of the University.
- 48. Errors and omissions in notification and selection process are subject to corrections.
- 49. The medium of instructions in respect of all courses conducted in the School, Centres and Department, admitted to the privileges of the University shall be English/Kannada except in cases of studies / research in languages.
- 50. The candidates are suggested NOT to upload the copies of research papers /publications in the online form. However, he/she requires to send all the relevant publications along with the hard copy of the application form for considering the candidature.
- 51. The SET qualified candidates shall be eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor only in the Universities/colleges belonging to the state from where they have passed the SET examination. The status of SET shall remain unchanged for SET examinations conduct of prior to 1st June, 2002 that is the candidates clearing SET were eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor anywhere in India.
- 52. The candidates need not fill the additional details (for example: Ph.D marks/ grade, etc.,) for which the information is not applicable/available. However, mandatory data must be provided.
- 53. Additional information if any, (for example: double/additional degree, name change details, etc.,) can be sent as hard copies along with application form.

** 15% of total score will be considered, from Category IIIA and IIIB. i.e. 7.5 % for Cat.III A( formula: Marks scored X 7.5/ 35) and 7.5% from Cat. III B (Marks scored X 7.5/80) The API for joint publications shall be calculated in the following manner: of the total score for the relevant category of publication by the concerned teacher, the First and Principal / corresponding author / supervisor / mentor would share equally 70% of the total point and the remaining 30% would be shared equally by all other authors. The Marks are distributed as 35 and 15 for Academic Record and Research Performance respectively. As per the Regulations the minimum eligibility is at least 55% marks ( or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at their Masters Degree level, in the relevant subject or an equivalent degree from an Indian/Foreign recognized University and other additional qualifications prescribed by UGC Regulations. c) Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skill (30) For Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills( Discipline in which the candidate has applied). There will be a Written Test (Multiple Choice) comprising of subject knowledge as well as the allied subjects and Aptitude for the total of 100 Marks. 30% of the marks obtained will be taken (based on the merits a ratio of 1:3 candidates or there be a discretion of the university to call all the eligible candidates for interview) d) For Interview there shall be only 12.25% of a+b+c i.e 80 = 9.8 Marks
- 55. APPLICATION FEE & MODE OF PAYMENT:

- Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
