FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS AT THE MAHATMA GANDHI ACADEMY OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (MGAHD) IN CHUCHUYIMLANG, NAGALAND

MGAHD invites interested scholars located within and outside India to apply for faculty and administrative positions to be filled in MGAHD, Chuchuyimlang (Nagaland). The Academy was formally inaugurated on 2nd October 2015 by the then Union Minister for Human Resources Development and the Chief Minister of Nagaland. MGAHD is a Centre established jointly by Gandhi Ashram in Chuchuyimlang Village in Mokokchung District of Nagaland with The Hans Foundation, New Delhi is the supporting partner.

MGAHD in academic collaboration with TISS, Mumbai is launching a Master of Arts in Social Work with specialization in Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship, which is a two year full time program with an integrated internship at the in a field setting. A number of Vocational Education courses will also be offered by MGAHD from early 2018.

All positions are initially offered on a one-year contract but renewable after performance assessment. All positions shall carry compensation equivalent to the 6th Pay Commission recommendations approved for Universities by the GoI.

All positions are based in Chuchuyimlang Village in Mokokchung District of Nagaland. MGAHD shall support in finding accommodation in the village.

TEACHING POSITIONS:

1. Assistant Professors (Five Posts) : Pay scale as per UGC norms specialization in

Community Development

Economics

(iii) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Social Anthropology

Entrepreneurship / Management

2. Programme Director (One post) : Monthly Consolidated Salary Rs. 1,50,000/-

Qualification and Experience:

A Master's Degree in any discipline with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed preferably from Social, Economic, Physical, Natural, Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and;

A minimum of 10 years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research/field action position in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry.

Experience of working in complex social, economic, cultural and ecological regions in the country. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology. Demonstrated experience of interface with multi-stakeholders peoples' groups and networks, State and Union Governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, civil society organizations and foundations would be an advantage.

Demonstrated work experience with experience of mentoring youth and young professionals as social innovators and changes agents. Should have the ability to lead and work in multicultural settings with multidisciplinary teams.

3. Programme Manager (One Post) : Monthly Consolidated Salary Rs. 75,000/

Qualification and Experience:

A Master's Degree in any discipline with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed preferably from Social, Economic, Physical, Natural, Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and;

A minimum of 5 years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research/field action position in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry.

Demonstrated experience of developing and managing projects and programmes. Good knowledge of techniques for developing planning, monitoring and implementing projects and programmes. Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems and work in multicultural settings with multidisciplinary teams.

4. Field Work / Research Supervisors / Teaching Assistants (Three Posts) : Monthly Consolidated Salary Rs. 40,000/- p.m. Qualification and Experience: A Masters' Degree with minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed in Social Work, Social Anthropology, Disasters Management, Sustainability Studies and At least two years of relevant experience with Government, Non-Government Organization, Industry / Business would be essential.

5. Administrative Assistant (Two Posts: One post for TISS, Mumbai and One post for MGAHD-Nagaland) : Monthly Consolidated Salary Rs. 25,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualification Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related disciplines with 3 years of work experience of accounts handling in GO/NGO/Private institutions or Master's Degree in Commerce or related disciplines.

The application fees of Rs. 1000/-for post at S.N. 1 to 3 and Rs. 500/-for the posts at S.N. 4 & 5 be paid online only. No other modes of payment will be accepted. The eligible shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for a Personal Interview to be scheduled in May 2018. The selection of all the posts (except one post of Administrative Assistant for TISS Mumbai) will be held at MGAHD, CHUCHUYIMLANG, NAGALAND.

Other Conditions:

The Institute reserves the right to not fill up the vacancy advertised. The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification of the candidate based on the work experience and to relax age in the case of persons already holding comparable positions in a University/Research Institution of repute.
